Hello everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I have been scanning these forums for some time now waiting for an update to the dreaded 5650m series graphics card. I now see there has been some success so I am eager to try it out on my laptop. Look forward to speaking with any of you. :(:)

Hi, I'm metronomadic. Engineer by day (not electrical / computer), wannabe hacker by night. I'm working to get my Dell Latitude E6410 working well. So far I've got basic functionality thanks to this site! I'll post more in a new topic here in the New User lounge so that I can post elsewhere, too.

Dustin here. Been using my Power Mac G5 for way too many years now and it's time to upgrade. I suppose I could set some money aside to buy a Mac Pro outright, but what fun is that? I kind of like the idea of a hackintosh and ever since I picked up the Dell mini 10v, I've been hooked. Currently gathering parts with each paycheck, but only waiting on the CPU and GPU at this point.

Hi,

I have OSX 10.5 on my desktop PC, and replaced my 10.5 on my old lappy with 10.6 (tho for now I have a wifi problem, but it's not important, and i didn't try any further yet) and I want to install OSX on my new laptop, MSI CX620, and I saw someone already tried - but with a problem, this laptop has the particularity to have two graphic "cards"/chipsets, an Intel and an ATI, I hope maybe we could help each other with the person who already posted about that laptop not long ago.

Sorry if my english is bad, I'm a bit french :)

OK now as bad as this might sound, I'm a IT Tech' (entry level I.M.O.). . . But I am SICK of Windows so I am making my new Hacintosh as we speak.

I encountered a problem in which I believe to have found the solution for (when loading from ##### to my OS disc, which is a legal brand new copy, I get some multi language screen telling me to hold the power button) when installing.

Here is the systems info/specs.

i7 Extreme

Inferno Katana Mobo

16GB DDR3 RAM (left 2GB in when installing)

1TB SATA HD

2x 250 GTX GFX Cards

2x IDE DVD RW Drives

Razer Mamba Mouse

Some random / cheap wireless Logitech keyboard :D

Yeah thats the basics . . . I have 32 GB total but a friend (who I think is causing me to fail, as he is a moron haha) told me only 16GB allowed in a hacintosh.

Anyway, I hope to get help and learn from you all - And maybe/hopefully eventually help everyone out in the end. I am going to be getting certified to work on Apple/Mac machines this summer when business isn't as chaotic, as I love Mac's products. This hacintosh is my project for 'fun' more or less haha.

Hello, I am new here, although I apparently created this account some time ago and then never did anything with it.

I was a member of the MacAddict/Mac|Life forums from 1999 until they closed down. Over there I was known as "Bren," and I am also known by that name on the message boards which split off from Mac|Life, Clubhouse54 and Macstack.

Anyway, I'm here mainly because somebody gave me a Core i7 2600K Sandybridge processor for free, and now I need to figure out which motherboard and graphics card to purchase. I am really hoping to be able to do a vanilla install of Snow Leopard on the machine that I build.

Thanks!
