Hi!

My name is Jasper. I'm a guy that mainly uses Windows, but has also built up some experience on linux. Though I never left Windows XP, I am quite capable with the OS. Then, there's linux, I have a lot to learn still, but I am currently administrating (with some others) an Ubuntu terminal server that is being used by multiple people every day.

I also have quite a bit of experience with bootloaders (non-EFI ones, that is), as I tried out a number of things while having two disks with a working bootloader on it so I would be able to boot even when I screwed up things pretty thoroughly.

However, now there's OS X. I am forced to work under OS X Snow Leopard for this project, even though I am all-new to the OS X scene. Some facilities for this are provided, but they don't match the project group in numbers and they are only available during office hours. So, I am trying to get OS X installed on my system, so I can work at home.

I have tried a good many things, but now that I got completely stuck and I no longer had any idea of what to try next, I signed up here in hope for some help.

Well, that's me, my computer CV and the story how I got here. Thanks for reading all that way, as I realize it's not all that interesting, really. See ya all around!

Hi everyone, I'm glad to be running OSX on a PC!

Been running it for about 2 weeks and everything is fine, just waiting for QE/CI support for the GMA 4500. Other than that everything is fine, loving the features of Logic Pro on OSX compared to FL Studio and Ableton that I use on Windows

Specs:

Win 7 + OSX 10.6.6

Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 2.1 GHz

250GB Internal HDD + 320 WD My Passport

3GB DDR3

1366 x 768 Display

1 DVD-RW Drive

Creative X-FI Go (Working out of the box!!)

If you would like to introduce yourself, please do it here. Thanks.

Do not ask questions here. Do not tell us your problems with OS X.

For questions and help open a new topic.

Hello,

Nice to meet you all. It's going ok, but I'm not allowed to tell you about problems here. So I won't.

Am I allowed to post in the other forums now I've done this?

That would be nice.

Cheers,

James

Hey everyone.

After being a fanatic Windows Vista lover, I cannot deny that I cannot leave my iPhone alone. It's too addictive. And after trying someone iPad and MB Air ... I just had to try this OS on my pc before I by some Mac.

And most runs really well (I'm sure it does a better job on a real Mac), but it complete f*cked up my Gmail account giving me 489 new mail (read undeleted mail which I already received) on my Windows laptop. I guess Apple Mail reindexed it all.

Aahh well, a new challange ... :)
