Hey Everyone just saying my Hi :D.

In general my main OS has always been Ubuntu, (dual boot windows 7) recently most of my team have been buying mac book pros. So I wanted to evaluate if I actually like using Mac OSX before deciding on actually buying a mac book pro myself.

Needless to say I really like the OS and have been frantically researching and researching and researching on how to get it installed on my samsung nc10, got a working 10.5.8 install and now trying to get the Snow Leaopard working with the 10.6.6 version...

Enjoying the challenge

been battling with the 10.6.6 but got it working till 10.6.2 and pressing on.

Anyway just glad this community exists and thank you to everyone who has done the hard work up until now.

Hi everyone!

I've followed the hackintosh community for a few years and have several Macs but they have gotten too expensive. I only recently built hackintoshes: a Dell D420 laptop and a Lenovo x61t tablet. I've also made a couple of VMWare hackintoshes. My next projects are a Dell M4500 laptop and a desktop. I appreciate the help this site has given me so far and hope to be able to reciprocate to other users.

Hi everyone.

Just wanted to post in here, because it seems to be the only place I'm able to post.

I had written a decent post which was going to be my first reply to Mammoth's DVx thread (I am having some issues with my machine), but I guess I have to post in here first! So that's what I'm doing.

Anyway, all this messing around just to get OS X to work without a few things like wireless, I'm leaning towards just buying a Mac..

Hi there yay

Today I tried to reply a guy with a working 8400GS 0x10c3, but I failed because I have no posts here. So I suppose I should write something!

So finally I got everything up and I hope that thread is being indexed by google and someone would find help in that post.

For Palit Geforce 8400GS 0x10c3 256MB I used iAtkos v3 v2 distro (10.6.3, huh?) and kexts from this thread. A huge 'THANK YOU' to hari.iiitb.

My Mobo is ga-g31m-es2l rev. 1.1 and it has some realtek alc883 (I am not sure if it's 883, because I got my VoodooHDA kext from some alc888-related thread), so for sound thingie I used that one http://touhou.ru/upload/8a28d9f43613451e3a0c540734f41c2e.zip , just put it into /System/Library/Extensions/ , then did

sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext

and bawwwww, all of the sudden my audio system got alive. yay!

If something goes wrong after reboot, try do

sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext
sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext

Many many thanks to those pros here who explained so much and give so many advices. Thanks to you I was able to install Mac OS X, get my sound working (with that dump correction file) and my network card running again under 10.5.8 (with Kalyways kexthelper and an old kext-file).

All that wouldn't have been possible without that hard and time-intensive work of especially those few real pros who feed all those "noobs" like me with information and files.

Of course my main aim is to get a real MacBook Pro - but untill I have the funds I need for one (which might take me few years even) I now may get a "feeling" of it.

Thank you very very much! You're great!

I had been doing iphone development for more than 1.5 yrs now. So finally figured to upgrade from mac mini.

Already had the hp dv8t-1000 (not the 1100 listed in mamoth's guide).

When starting the new venture 2 years ago I had gone through several weeks of hacint0sh with limited success. Tried on 4 laptops at home and finally my old Toshiba Satellite had 10.5.7 & XCode 3.1.2!!! But my joy as short lived. Apple kept changing it's OS & XCode & iOS version and minimum system requirements. So had to buy mac minis.

Now is time to upgrade. So was delighted to find Mamoth's comprehensive guide on dv8t. But my better half siad why not get a genuine MBP without headaches (new os versions from apple) and use those "2 day hacint0sh" time in creating a new app for iphone. Also, it won't look good in a client meeting to show off a hacint0sh. So I am taking the expensive plunge of buying a MBP (debating on 15" Vs 17"). I hope I am doing the right thing.

Hi all.

I am Jake from North Dakota. I have 2 Gateways (1 laptop and 1 desktop) and they both dual boot OSX and Windows 7. I am trying to get fully compatibility for my Radeon ATI 6950 in SL. I have flashed it to 6970, so I am not sure how that will affect everything. Anyway, as you all might have guessed I am just trying to get to 10 posts.
