Another SOLVED: Still waiting for root device...

After 12 hours of checking every forum thread concerning this error and everything else thinkable:

 

I found out the only problem why I had this error was that

 

I did NOT CUSTOMIZE my JaS 10.4.7 installation.

 

 

I guess this will be the problem in most cases, where the hardware should be compatible.

 

In this CUSTOMIZE menu, you will find all the patches you need for a non-"waiting for root device" install, like SSE2-patch, amd-patch etc. These patches are NOT chosen for installation in non-customised mode. so... I think MacOSX was waiting for real Macintosh hardware... I just tried 2 b careful, not messing up the installation by customizing it, without knowing anything about macosx86, so I ignored the CUSTOMIZATION.

 

Try a reinstall and pay attention 2 the CUSTOMIZE button. Then check the patches U need.

 

Reboot after installation and imho youll see a great work by JaS... and Steven J. !!!

@LinuxPPL: Check opendarwin, youll find some handy darwin ports of your favourite linux apps.
