Thanks! Hope we will see some with 2GB+ VRAM running the two more complex scenes :)

WIth 1GB VRAM only Luxball scene works (or you use CPU only)

ah ok !!
that's why I froze on the other two tests, thank you for the information :)

2013 Mac Pro with dual FirePro D700s = 20,083

2010 Mac pro with GeForce GTX 980 = 10,884
2013 iMac with GeForce GTX 780M = 2822
2014 iMac with R9 M295X = 8211

All Luxball (GPU, V30.B1) - others crashes or vram error. Even some gpus have >= 2 GB VRAM.

Info from Dade (main dev of LM) about that memory error (i thaugth is means to less vram = WRONG)

The error says that the GPU is not able to allocate a single block of 268MB memory required by the infinite light. Many old GPUs are limited to 128MB or 256MB (doesn't matter the amount of total memory). I will scale down the Mic scene infinite light map in the next version.

v3.0beta2 available (DL link first posting)

Apple OpenCL seem to have much probs with new 3.0 LM OpenCL code. At least the two bigger scenes wont run on most gpus.

Same Programmcode in Win much less probs.

updated first post / Links : V 3.0 available. Same probs as before (with betas) : on most gpus only the luxballHDR scene (small) will run on GPU, the two others will fail (OpenCL compiler error or OpenCL runtime error) because of OpenCL compiler / OpenCL driver probs in OS X / Linux.

But you can run the medium und big scene in  OpenCL CPU only mode or C++ (on CPU) mode  (as an cpu bench ;) )

Nvidia GT 440 (OpenCL GPU only) : 636  ( my result in database: http://www.luxmark.info/node/207  )

I am the slowest the database ;)

database (Mac, gpu only, 1 gpu results for luxball HDR (small scene)

2x HD 7770 and 3 versions of Luxmark 3.0.

Beta 1 turned out to be the best performance and accuracy-wise.

All on El Capitan DP3 in a Mac Pro 5,1.

Inspiring.

Ok I've used 3.0 (was accurate enough) and 3.1 Beta 1 (less accurate yet). 280X and a cMP 5,1 as well, on El Cap DP3

So Luxmark 3.0 and 3.1 results are similar but not going to be a fair comparison, as noted by the dev here.

There's another interesting result. In good old Luxmark 2.1 & sala scene, the score with the same machine and 280X in Mavericks and Yosemite has always been 2400ish, see #109 here. Now on El Capitan I'm getting close to 2700..

Same here. In Mavs and Yos I was getting a bit above 1500 for these dual 7770s in Lux 2.1 sala, El Cap gives nearly 1900. Good direction Apple has, at least on this field.

There's progress with the Neumann Mic medium scene on Macs, it's working fine now in El Cap no more errors. Might become a standard like Sala in v2.1. And yes same here, unfortunately still no way to get GPU only results from the Hotel Lobby complex scene.

Luxmark 3.0 vs 3.1 beta 2 / 10.11 DP6

10.10.5 isnt able to run the mic scene (3.1beta2,3). compiler fails like older 10.10 versions. Someone posted it is working in El Captain. Perhaps apple never fix that in 10.10.x , because most other OpenCL tasks arent affected or OpenCL today isnt used that complex way like luxmark.

Updated first post 3.1beta3 available (added option to change CL compiler options in the menue)

Someone with Nvidia and 10.11 (using 3.1b2/3)?

OS X 10.11 dev.beta 6 build 15A244d

Luxmark v.3.1 beta 3, scene 'Neumann (microphone)'

Nvidia GTX Titan GK110

I'm not sure which compiler option was needed, therefore used defaults

PS. For comparison, here is linux result

OpenSUSE 13.1, kernel 3.11.10-29, Nvidia proprietary driver 352.30

Luxmark v.3.1 beta 1, scene 'Neumann (microphone)'

again +160 pts, getting new alltime highscores with almost every new beta of 10.11.

Edit, similar increase with LuxMark v3.1 final release and Neumann Mic, default compilers. +370 pts in DP8
