After trying to fix my sound problem and installing the macvidia driver for my GeForce 6000LE i rebooted my system. Now it says: Failed to load extensions com.apple.driver.AppleVIAATA Failed to load extensions com.apple.driver.AppleGenericPCATA (in YELLOW, followed by:) Couldn't alloc class "AppleVIAATARoot" Couldn't alloc class "AppleGenericPCATARoot" (...) and: Driver auto reconnect to last 0ID_802_11_SSID setting - (6x) Still waiting for root device. Please help my, my OS was running so great until now and this error kinda frustrated my... Btw: The HD is SATA, but I configured it and it worked fine until now. max.mx Posted September 12, 2006 Author Share Posted September 12, 2006 Ok, I think I know what the problem might be... I also applied this little speed-up patch (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=517) but obviously the new IOATAFamily.kext contains the AppleGenericPCATA.kext, and as my HD is SATA (configured in AppleVIAATA.kext) I'll have to copy this one into the IOATAFamily.kext/ and remove the PATA. Only have I to download the Darwin Boot-CD, 'cause I can't boot from the 10.4.6. HOTISO either... Hope this will fix the bug. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
