I get this message when booting from usb external disk on Acer 1520.

"com.apple.iokit.iousbmassStorageClass" has no kernel dependency.

Any one have this problem?

USB stuff is crappy on acer aspire 1520. You can't set anything in the bios only disable/enable and I'm also not able to use USB harddisc or a USB memory stick. As soon as you pop it in you'll get an error message after 40 seconds or so that you have to shut down your mac.

Only my USB mouse is working, other "HIGH SPEED" USB stuff won't work. I saw that my Memory stick showed up as a "high speed bus" USB device. Those doesn't seem to work.

Maybe someone has a solution for this?

Regards

Jordan

Your chipset is VIA and there are USB problems and no solutions so far.

I've the same problem. Booting from a usb 2.0 external hdd. It seems to be a problem with the hard disk. I also get the error message: "bdevvp: open failed" and then a kernel panic.

Did someone get it working on a external usb/firewire hdd??
