aleff
Hi Mohamed, Appreciate all the work you've done. You mention making dsdt for all combinations in post #52. Where can I find them. My N5110 is i5-2430 with no discrete graphics and Intel Centrino wifi. Could I use the dsdt for your config. and comment out or delete the sections for nvidia and wifi? Or do you have other suggestions? I'm on A09 bios so that should be fine. TIA

Julio Vargas
Hi all, regarding the subject SMC want to share my keys in the Info.plist withinFakeSMC.kext, which help to eliminate most of the standard errors on console, leaving only the famous and uncorrected "normal" (even on computers genuine) message that may be on purpose by testing ML: kernel: SMC :: smcInitHelper ERROR: MMIO regMap == NULL - fall back to old SCMmode (from the memory) It is noteworthy that among the keys are some that improve the function of sleep, and leaving it records the correct information in console. I especially recommend their implementation in laptops. Of course it is understood that three (3) of which are specific for use with the profile (smbios.plist) MacBookPro8, 1: Code: <key>IOKitPersonalities</key> <dict> <key>SMC Device Emulator</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>org.netkas.FakeSMC</string> <key>Configuration</key> <dict> <key>Keys</key> <dict> <key>$Adr</key> <array> <string>ui32</string> <data>AAADAA==</data> </array> <key>$Num</key> <array> <string>ui8</string> <data>AQ==</data> </array> <key>ACID</key> <array> <string>ch8*</string> <data>ur48RcADEEM=</data> </array> <key>BEMB</key> <array> <string>flag</string> <data>AQ==</data> </array> <key>CLKH</key> <array> <string>{clh</string> <data>AABwgAABGUA=</data> </array> <key>CLKT</key> <array> <string>ui32</string> <data>AAByGw==</data> </array> <key>CLWK</key> <array> <string>ui16</string> <data>AHY=</data> </array> <key>DPLM</key> <array> <string>{lim</string> <data>AAAAAA==</data> </array> <key>EPCI</key> <array> <string>flag</string> <data>AQ==</data> </array> <key>FNum</key> <array> <string>ui8</string> <data>AA==</data> </array> <key>LSOF</key> <array> <string>flag</string> <data>AQ==</data> </array> <key>LSSB</key> <array> <string>{lso</string> <data>AQE=</data> </array> <key>MOST</key> <array> <string>ui16</string> <data>gAM=</data> </array> <key>MSDS</key> <array> <string>ui8</string> <data>AA==</data> </array> <key>MSLD</key> <array> <string>ui8</string> <data>AA==</data> </array> <key>MSPS</key> <array> <string>{msp</string> <data>AA==</data> </array> <key>MSSD</key> <array> <string>si8</string> <data>Aw==</data> </array> <key>MSSP</key> <array> <string>si8</string> <data>AA==</data> </array> <key>MSTg</key> <array> <string>ui8</string> <data>AA==</data> </array> <key>NATJ</key> <array> <string>ui8</string> <data>AA==</data> </array> <key>NATi</key> <array> <string>ui16</string> <data>MDAwMA==</data> </array> <key>NTOK</key> <array> <string>ui8</string> <data>AQ==</data> </array> <key>NVPR</key> <array> <string>ui8</string> <data>AA==</data> </array> <key>OSK0</key> <array> <string>ch8*</string> <data> b3VyaGFyZHdvcmtieXRoZXNld29y ZHNndWFyZGVkcGw= </data> </array> <key>OSK1</key> <array> <string>ch8*</string> <data> ZWFzZWRvbnRzdGVhbChjKUFwcGxl Q29tcHV0ZXJJbmM= </data> </array> <key> REV </key> <array> <string>{rev</string> <data>AWgPAACY</data> </array> <key> RPlt </key> <array> <string>ch8*</string> <data>azkwaQAAAAA=</data> </array> </dict> <key>debug</key> <true/> <key>smc-compatible</key> <string> smc-huronriver </string> </dict> <key>IOClass</key> <string>FakeSMC</string> Here is a glossary of terms and definitions (http://www.parhelia.ch/blog/statics/k3_keys.html) very good (something old but much good). AdrianFurtuna
Hi Guys I followed this guide and forum post to by best knowledge. I got a 8gb flash and followed the video to the letter. Now when i boot 2 things happen: If i boot normaly i get KP at AppleCPUPowerManagement.kext I deleted/replaced the kext using the one in the extra folder. - When i do the above it boots but the pc goes into Sleep right after DMOS has arrived (i can see the language selector for about 3 seconds) - I cannot wake it up to continue installation If i boot with -v -f i get Still waiting for root device It's been 2 days and i don't know what to do. (also tried deleting ati/nvidia kexts, or GraphicsEnabler=No, but no luck) I did some digging and i think this might related to the Transcript Offline on IntelHD3000 Please help. Hans88
Hello, I would like to have your help please concerning how you did to enable Bluetooth without restarting from windows? I have an ASUS P9X79 Deluxe http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_2011/P9X79_DELUXE/ and there is a built-in Atheros Bluetooth module on it. If I boot on Windows first and then restart my computer an boot on OS X, I'll have the Bluetooth working or even if I dont turn off power from my PSU, so the motherboard stays on stand-by mode and at any time I boot in OS X the Bluetooth module will work. My only problem is that if I turn whole power off meaning switching off power from PSU, when I will boot in OS X the Bluetooth module won't turn ON or some any reason OS X LION wont recognize it until I log on Windows 7 and restart to go back on OS X, then it will work. If you could help me to sort out this problem that would be great. Thanks Hans.

You should try the same kext we used with our laptop but changing the vendor and product ID with yours (get those from system profiler in mac after restarting from windows or even from device manager from windows itself) I think it will work like that! jkbuha
Nice work guys - I've also modded the BIOS for native speedstep on the XPS 15/15z, though the BIOS module & structure was different the routine for the bit setting was the same. Thanks for this!
themacmeister
It appears that I swapped out my incompatible Intel mini-wireless-n/bluetooth card for another incompatible card (BCM943225XXX Wireless-n/Bluetooth combo)... grrrrrr Anyone got a foolproof Airport Extreme compatible (no drivers needed) replacement mini-wifi card? It must be the mini-card (with two antennas). I am not interested in Bluetooth at all, and will not miss it, but if there is a compatible combo card, I will consider that. Must have 64bit support on OSX and Win7! PS. I got the wireless working nicely under Win7 on my (now dualboot) system. The bluetooth may be more difficult. Futan
Hi I did usb with that video. And post-installation, but the brightness almost dark. What should i do? Had the same issue. At boot put in the flag "DSDT=<insert nonexistent filename here>" then once you're logged in delete the DSDT.aml file. I personally have one of the newer N5110s with a i3 2350M and the DSDT and SSDT supplied with this don't seem to be compatible.

Futan
Not sure it's even necessary, M.O.S. Only things I've found not to work so far are the HDMI port and Mirroring when using the VGA port(causes a restart). Using the VGA to extend the monitor works fine. Otherwise every other port seems to be working no problem. As well as all the software that I've tested thus far.
