You can use Clover Legacy + files in the guide. It works fine with Dual boot Windows 10.

 

As I know, windows can't be installed on GPT disk, so you should have the second disk with MBR partition table or install windows in UEFI mode, that means you'll have some problems with audio.

You can use gdisk to convert your drive to Hybrid GPT/MBR and Windows Legacy will install.

 

Or just install both on a native MBR.

Hello everyone, I've tried to read through all 130+ pages, searched topic for keywords, but hadnt found answers for these questions:

 

1. I've read on Dell's official sites and in lots of reviews that our lovely notebook cant detect more than 8 gigabytes of RAM. And here I see guys with 16gb ram installed. How's that possible, is it unlocked by the BIOS mod from the front page?

 

2. What's the changelog for latest BIOS mod in comparison with official A11? Maybe some unlocked features, like new CPU or more RAM support? I'm not talking about UEFI support and new menus, those changes are good.

 

3. And the most interesting question - anyone patched "IDT HD Audio" drivers to work with default, non-UEFI Windows 10?

An issue I'm experiencing is that after the installation of official driver from the Dell support page the sound doesnt work anymore, and if you connect your heaphones to the rightside port you can see clicks and strange noises. Removing the audio device with deleting drivers from Device Manager will install default "High Definition Audio Device" driver.

So SRS Audio is not working, Win10's HDAD sound is kinda poor compared to Win7's IDT HDA, and some videoplayers and games and all them programms think that I have some kind of multidevice configuration with subwoofer and are dropping all the bass and central audio channel to the void of silence.

 

Edit:

1. Bluetooth is working with Atheros AR3011 drivers, can send files to and from my phone. Dont install them, just unpack and show Device Manager to install them, couple of minutes and everything is working.

2. Wifi shows as Dell Wireless 1702, so uses it's own drivers. I recommend you to NOT install drivers from Dell's site, unpack them instead and install driver manually. Dell's Wifi-Bluetooth utility works poorly and is very buggy at Win10.

3. For USB3.0 you'll need "Wistron USB3.0 Controller Driver" from Dell's site.

4. Screen-deactivating button is working after installing "Dell QuickSet Application". Application itself isnt starting from the wrench (middle) button, but it's useless anyway.

5. And of course, get latest Nvidia driver from their site.

 

Every other driver Windows 10 installs automatically.

2. It is almost the same. However the people added some fix/micro update to make it compatible with OSX (such as I/O power management ...).

1) CPU should support 16GB, not BIOS. 

2) UEFI enabling - it's main feature, some graphics fixes on graphic card BIOS for OS X, as I remember.

3) Win10 (BIOS installation) works fine by default, there is no need to use extra drivers from everywhere. Win10 find all drivers for your laptop and install them. For me it's work perfect.

1) CPU, Chipset and BIOS should support 16gb, so the question was about BIOS. Anyway, as vanquybn said already, 16gb will work.

3) It wont find your Bluetooth, USB3.0 and Nvidia drivers, also default Audio driver is not so good.

1) yep, you're right, but i'm not sure about chipset... Northbridge, as part of chipset should support 16gb, but it's built in CPU.

3) it's find all drivers and install it in Windows Update like any other update. but you are right about audio, it's not good at all by default.

Has anyone had an issue when booting Clover from the USB EFI and the "Clover Boot Options" button does not show?

 

Also tried to find how to manually add it to BIOS and couldn't find how to add it. The PostInstall.sh script ran without errors and is now on EFI partition of the system drive.

 

Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

did you use GPT partition table? Or it's mixed or something like that?

did you flash your bios with lastest modded rom(with UEFI enabled)?

 

try give us more information about your problem, about your laptop, disk partitions etc.

Thanks for offering your help! I figured it out. The PostInstall.sh script actually had errors. Eventually the CLOVER folder didn't get copied to the EFI partition and that's why the button was not on the Clover interface when running it from the flash drive since Clover did not see the CLOVER folder and the .efi file in it on the EFI partition and that's why it could not offer the option of adding the entry to the boot menu in bios (as there was nothing to add :).

 

On a side note - to answer your question - sure I did flash the bios - if I didn't I wouldn't be able to boot Clover from the USB drive, it all worked fine - the issue was that the button "Clover Boot Options" wasn't there, it wasn't available. And yes, I did partition it to GPT so the EFI partition was on the drive. I think the error in running the PostInstall.sh was due to the wrong reference - the .sh script refers to disk0 (disk0s1) and I was installing on the 2nd HDD in my laptop which must have been disk1 (disk1s1). Once I mounted the EFI partition and copied the CLOVER folder to it and rebooted and booted from the USB flash drive again the button "Clover Boot Options" was there just as I expected. Hope this helps someone as well :)

I have just updated to Capitan 10.11(GM) successfully. Almost working fine. I am trying to resolve issue with bluetooth and audio

i have one quistion as i saw your laptop is same as mine  

i managed to install Mac 10.10  succefully  with duall boot win 7

but there is only one problem

the wifi kext  works fine and recognized but there is no any actuall connection to any near by network?

the symbol appears will and there is no any connection to any network

strange  problem 

  

i googled  it and found some people with same problem as me

any   idea whats wrong

install the SysteInfo.app tool, start the app and look for the details of your WIFI and write the Vendor-ID and Device-ID your wifi, then patches the /Info.plist and fix the permissions then restart the system :)

For some days used I see that my graphics HD3000 artifacts & freezing on this version. Hopefully it will be get out in the released version. Also the bluetooth does not working properly in this version so my Magic mouse cannot connect.

Use slide=0 bootarg to avoid memory corruption and artifacts.

 

Don't know about Bluetooth.

AppleHDA not work and there is no sound with El Capitan . But using the version of Yosemite is solved and the sound is crisp . VoodooHDA have poor sound quality .

On the other hand , El Capitan omitted repair permissions , so Kext Utility is no longer convenient to use. Instead use only Kext Wizard recontruye the cache.
