does anyone here activated imessages through  calling apple care ?  :hammer: 

or can anyone deal with apple care supporter team ?!

 

Do you have an icloud account? I usually sign in with it and not the account tied to my apple id specifically.

Please anyone help me. I have problem "chain booting error" when i boot into mac os (i using EasyBCD add boot menu mac os MBR). I have triple OS: Mac 10.8.4, Mac 10.9 and Windows 8.

 

Had this problem but seems either i deleted a file by mistake or the fact that mac could write to my ntfs partitions it corrupted something. I did a reinstall of windows 8 and then osx and everything is working again with selection from easybcd edit in windows boot menu. If you cant do a reinstall use your windows 8 cd to repair boot sectors. Someone mentioned elsewhere it could be that there are two 'active' partitions you could try using 'disk part' on windows to check and change that.

if i press fn+f1 the vga work however this is not multi display method, it only duplicate screen monitor.

 

This works for me: Install switchresx then enable the 'daemon' and enable the icon in the top section. When you click the 'monitor icon' from switchresx just click 'detect monitors' this way i hotswap plugging my monitor without connecting it during bootup and its extended not duplicated.

same here. additionally vga out put quality is very poor.

 

update :

VGA working like a charm  :angel:

Although I did some crazy stuff.

 

removed switchresx completely

copied /Extra and other stuffs to /Extra folder again

copied all kext again

re-cahed all kexts

rebooted

installed switchresx again

removed it

rebooted

 

no more switchresx & vga working as it should be.

Also noticed that there was no arrangement tab at display preference before and there is one now  :D

Ok. Here is  another thing you should try.

 

connect VGA cable

 

-------> Boot with fn+1

 = you goot mirror right ?

-------> Reboot with fn+1 (just once again)

= you should get extended working vga if not then goto System preference -> display -> arrange -> unmark mirroring

 

P.S. We both have same config but I have no nvidia. So you should replace my DSDT when copying my Extra folder.

so am running 10.9 dev can i install 10.9 final on my hdd and will it keep all files ?

 

If you have genuine 10.9 GM it will have updated to the same version number.

 

If not, you will need to read up on how to enable the download to work in app store.

 

just perform a new install over the same partition without formatting and everything will be where it was.

I need to know how to mod my bios! I have the 2410 and I need to know how to proceed. I need to have windows installed? What windows is better to mod my bios?

 

bios mod on first page, windows xp or windows 7 should be fine

Hi, i've finally installed osx on my Dell. Everything works fine, but i have a little problem. At starting it appears boot0 done and start booting windows. Osx boot only using the flash drive.

for boot0:error 

boot from usb device to installer ---> open disk utility ---> right click on mac partion and unmount it

then open terminal and type

dd if=/usr/standalone/i386/boot1h of=/dev/disk0s1
as 0s1 is mac partion identifier you can know it from disk utility info of mac partion

 

 

if u wanna to know which number of ur mac partition in terminal just hit this command " diskutil list "

Hello everyone!
Established by this instruction, the installation was successful. Everything works except video (Nvidia), ethernet cards and touchpad.
 
Tried to install Voodoo-PS2-Controller failed.
Help.
 
Parameters notebook: DELL INSPIRON N5110
CORE i7 2630QM
Nvidia GeForce 525M

 

Same problem here .... Simply replace your ps2 kext with the linked alternate kext in the first page VoodooPS2Controller.kext.zip not only into S/L/E folder but also into EXTRA folder then run kext utility , restart . worked for me . 

 

*** to get ethernet card works simply read the first page of the guide carefully there is a work around by changing settings manually  ...

 

*** NVDIA NEVER WORKS !!! AND IF SOMEONE GET IT WORKING BY XCODING DRIVER ,NEVER  USE IT ON OSX (GRAPHICS INTENSIVE OPERATING SYSTEM ) !!!!!!!!! CAUSE , YOUR NVDIA CHIB WILL BOILS !!! THEN .......

 

DETACHES FROM MOTHERBOARD CAUSING FATAL MOTHERBOARD FALIAR !!!! 

 

ITS A FUNDAMENTAL SCRABE FACT ABOUT NVDIA C ARDS REGARDING ITS IMPROPER COLLING SYSTEM !!!

you shouldn't need it in EXTRA if your set up correctly using cache.

Yes .... i later figured that out , its a boot flags in boot loader configuration , BUT , in preference pan says " no trackpad found "., although the touchpad is working , BUT  WITHOT

 

MULTITOUCH !! 

 

S0 I MADE A LITEL MODIFICATION TO THE PS2 KEXT PROVIDED BY the guide .

 

AND NOW I GOT IT IDENTIFIED CORRECTLY , AND WORKS FLAWLESSLY , WITH BOTH TOW FINGERS SCROLE & THREE FINGERS

 

GESTURES . for the first time for me !!

 

Edite :

 

NO MODIFICATION NEEDED WHEN I used  SMBIOS 8.1 instead of 8.2 .

EDIT: It works for me in terms of scrolling, but the cursor movement is very jerky and not smooth at all. 

you must first adjust pointer speed to the best performance , and adjust all multitouch options in trackpad section in preferences pan.

 

i got it smoother so its usable . swipe  right or left with three fingers , switches deferent desktops and dashboard 

 

tow fingers scrolling & tow fingers tapping are working .

 

i noticed it does not keep settings after restarting so i must readjust pointer speed every time i startup !

 

i will try fixing that and , update .

It doesn't seem to be pointer speed. I'm trying to see if I can fix it or at least find the cause since my other kext works fine, but it only works as a PS2 mouse so no multitouch functions. The cursor movement is just not smooth. The swipe gesture works find though. 

willing to post your kext ? so we can make a merged version ?
