Hey I am wanting to install OS X on my Vostro 3400. It's been quite a while since I used OS X86 so I'm not quite sure where to start.

Specs:

Processor: Intel Core i3 370m (2.41GHz, 1066MHz, 3MB) -- 2 cores with 4 threads

Memory (RAM): 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz

Hard drive: 320GB 7200rpm (faster than standard 5400rpm laptop drives)

Display: 14.1” HD (1366x768) LED Display (matte not glossy)

Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 310M (512MB) and Intel HD (Dual video cards)

Optical Drive: 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD/-RW/R) with Dual-Layer

Bluetooth: Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth Internal (2.1 + Enhanced Data Rate)

Battery: 6-cell Lithium Ion battery (56 WHr)

Additional: Webcam, Card Reader, VGA, HDMI, 3x USB ports, Ethernet, Kensington lock port

Really hoping I can get OS X running on this. Any help is appreciated.

Anyone?

Maybe you can visit tonymac website http://tonymacx86.com/ first.

You can tried different approach there.

The summary is like this (assume that you already have a Macosx installer DVD)

1. Boot with bootlader, you can try using boot from tony, or hackboot, or if you have a Hackintosh unit or a real mac, you can tried inject flash disk or external hdd with Chimerra boot loader for tony or chameleon.

2. After that you have a bootloader, tried to boot itu from your computer, and try to run a macosx installer with verbose mode (flag -v).

3. If somehow the installer get stuck, take a picture of your screen, and post it here.

4. good luck :)
