LarsBorris
Okay! So installed Snow Leopard from scratch and Lion after that. Installed the Andy v5 package for my motherboard - rebooted Installed the HD6970 package (non native because i installed the motherboard package) - shutdown Changed GFX card to my HD6970... Booted up the machine and got a white screen when I was supposed to get my desktop. Tried rebooting with GraphicsEnabler=no and voila! got into my desktop. Did a benchmark test in cinebench Screenshot The benchmark lagged a little every second or so and my desktop feels laggy aswell. Is there any way to remedy that? Thanks alot guys for creating this package! its awesome to be able to use my SandyBridge with my big HD6970 card! Also should I apply the 10.7.2 update? Thanks guys! you rock! EDIT: I installed the 10.7.2 update and now everything runs like a charm. It boots without the graphicsenabler=no and the desktop isnt laggy anymore! I installled the 10.7.2 combo update - didnt reboot Then installed the non native HD6970 package. Awesome job guys! If you need me to beta test anything, let me know. I would like to give back to this community that helped me so much. EDIT: Okay so the machine did only boot flawless one time, still need to add the GraphicsEnabler=no at chameleon boot. Guess I will have to edit the com.apple.plist thingy so it will boot with GE=no everytime. Other than that its AWESOME! Thanks again.

^Andy^
EDIT:Okay so the machine did only boot flawless one time, still need to add the GraphicsEnabler=no at chameleon boot. Guess I will have to edit the com.apple.plist thingy so it will boot with GE=no everytime. You should be able to use GE=Yes. The problem you are describing is more likely the cold boot bug. From a cold boot you will get a white screen with the mouse pointer visible - just press reset (not power off) and it should boot up fine 2nd time around. Only happens from a cold boot btw. Oh, btw, do you guys think it's just a matter of time till those issues in iTunes, sleep..etc get fully patched or we will need to wait for 10.7.3 or something to get better support?Am just asking as i might swap my 6950 for a 6870 if things are going to take too long. I doubt things will improve much with the 10.7.2 betas and it may well be that we have to wait until at least 10.7.3 before we start to see some proper unpatched support (either accidental or deliberate) but I live in hope! LarsBorris
Yes your suggestion worked fine, boots fine after the reset thing. How can I remedy that so it boots correctly the first time? Chess causes my “Mac” to hang Choosing Cover view in iTunes causes my “Mac” to hang. Mouse is laggy when iTunes is open. Unable to start from sleep. Found this issues when opening PhotoShop CS5. This screenshot I wanted to resize: GeekBench Screenie Looked like this in PhotoShop: PhotoShop CS5 screwup

I'm waiting for someone's response regarding the same issues, but he used a different bootloader with 6950/6970 support (Chimera) and the standard Andy's package. I'll report back here whenever i get his reply. UPDATE: The other guy who used chimera has those issues too. I really hope that the next MacPros will have those cards.. derBerti
Hello everybody, i´m new to the Hackintosh thing and this is my first build. I have read a ton of threads in the last weeks. In this post i just want to report back (and thank you all!) My Setup: GA-Z68X-UD5-B3 i7 2600K 16GB Ram Asus HD 6970 I installed Lion using Kakewalk. Used DSDT for my board by tonymac. ##### for LAN/Sound. Updated to 10.7.1 For the Installation i used an old 8600gt. No Problems so far. Then i installed the last standard package from this thread and switched cards... Here my report. While booting up: "unsupported card" and grey apple boot screen in wrong resolution. Need to boot 2x times, second with restart button. iTunes Coverflow hangs OSX. Chess the same. Mouse movement is normal (read:smooth) with iTunes Sleep not tested yet. (not working with 8600gt. Monitor goes in sleep modus, but mainboard and all fans are still on. Won´t wake up once it is in sleep. Have to reboot.) As far as i read is this the last "evolution" of HD6xx0. Please correct me if i´m wrong... I think your issues are with the iAtkos distribution. Have you tried installing it again using Andy's boot CD?
