It seems i've got it!

GFX are much faster and no hickups.

The only thing i noticed was when i ran LuxMark 2.0 it show this message:

2012-05-02 20:10:45 - RUNTIME ERROR: No OpenCL device selected or available

can this be an application error? Can anyone point me other gfx benchmark util?

If anyone's having the same problem as i did, here's my post we my resolution.

Yeah you must use a opencl enabler now MB3ast or so

Also by the way the problem of not being able to change for macpro3,1 to 4,1 and 5,1 is due to the AppleTyMCEDriver.kext in case someone is wondering, since 3,1 doesn't seem to load the AppleGraphicsPowerManagement

NOTE: Only for Mac OS X Lion native drivers with NVIDIA 4xx and 5xx cards. If you've previously installed the official Quadro for Mac drivers for Lion from NVIDIA's site, do NOT run the Combo OpenCL Enabler.

i have modified kexts in order to make the gfx work.

I successfully installed Lion 10.7.3 on Asus Rampage III Gene

but I'm not able to boot unless I use

-

v npci

=

0x2000

Anyone know any kext or how to solve this?

Also I have triple OS. But each of them is in separate harddrive.

On my BIOS I set the primary drive to Windows.

But I couldn't see the Mac OS if I don't use the USB installer and set the primary drive to the USB.

TIA

Thank you very much, my Lion 10.7.3 works flawless.

here is a small guide on how to dual boot Lion and Windows 7. This method works perfectly for my system:

Sabertooth i7 950

sapphire hd6850

kingston hyperx (2x4gb)

8gb seagate barracuda 2tb

1) Install Lion first as outlined by this guide, make sure you format the disk using GPT and make 2 partition, first one Lion and 2nd one windows, format the windows as Fat32, the order is critical.

2) Boot from your Windows cd/usb. (You need at least Windows 7 Professional or greater, since it has recovery options)

3) Format the Windows partition to NTFS and Install. After this you will no longer be able to boot into chameleon, since Windows wrote over the charmeleon boot-loader. If windows does not allow you to install in in the NTFS partition, you need to go back into Lion, use disk utility and *resize* the partition. This will make it raw and fix the compatibility issue with windows. Just make sure its 2nd in order.

4) Boot into your Lion install USB, you will see that Lion and Windows both works because of Chameleon from the USB. What we want to do is reinstall Chameleon into the hard drive. Open terminal in the installer and follow Step 7 from the Lion install guide. You should be able to boot into chameleon without the USB and into Lion. Now try going into Windows, you should get an error.

5) Load your Windows install cd/usb and it will give you a recovery option. Perform startup repair and Whola! You should now be able to boot into both OS seamlessly.

Hi,

I have never had any serious problems with the OSX updates until today.

Once updated to 10.7.4 I cannot boot,, it appears that there is no disk access, although the wheel spins, but after about two minutes Kps.

i have tried all the options, -f -x all with the same result.

I am using the X58 amended DSDT and AppleEMC.kext in S/L/E, witth no other kexts as I use USB audio and lancard is using native AppleYukon2.kext.

I understand there are changes in power management in 10.7.4, but all ideas would be appreciated thans a lot.

Tony.

Same thing for me. current update is a nono.

Mouse light goess of after apple logo, keyboard also does nothing, then the wheel will start spinning and after a while it says you must restart your computer, bummer.

Any idea?

Me too.

Big KP...

Temporal solution is delete or rename the DSDT.aml in the /Extra/ folder...

I will try to find a workaround...

Note w/o DSDT we don't have:

- AUDIO

- Ethernet Built-in

- Probably no Sleep

- And other previous injected device...

... a mess...

glad i checked here first... anything we can do to help???

Later I will do some test (replacing old kext from 10.7.3)

like:

- AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext

- AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient.kext

- AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext

or find a solution into the DSDT... maybe some dedicated PowerManagement SSDT? no idea

Hi Fabio et all.

i tried removing the DSDT, but no change. just a two minute wait before a KP.

Strange thing is there is absolutely no disk access after the disk is selected in Chameleon, it seems similar to trying to boot a hack without AppleEMC.kext.

I have also tried different Chameleon versions bootloaders all to no avail.

This is unfortunate as with your DSDT and advice this has always just worked. 10.7.3 sitting on another (backup) disks just loads fine with sleep etc. In 10.7.3 I only modded Apple RTC, as audio is uSB and lan card uses apple yukon2 natively. Sleep is fine absolutely, it just works, is 10.7.4 appears dead on the Sabertooth x58, from what I gather on the net. It has previously worked so well I have not been interested to upgrade to sandybridge or ivybridge.

thks for all your hard work...

As I say before...

I can boot with out DSDT...

(Asus X58 P6T Deluxe)

Reading the kernel log, IOREG, and bdmesg,

the CPU and his C-P-T States are ok (No C/P StateEnabler in org.chameleon.Boot.plist)..

what i can try is "slipt" my DSDT into modules (SSDT)

one by one starting with HDEF later ETH0 & ETH1... ecc

Any news or tips are welcome.

Discrete but important progress...

- first I apply the patch at AppleRTC thx rayap

CMOS Resets on Restarts after Sleep and Wake in 10.7 (Lion)

- Then as I say before I split part of my DSDT into modules...

DTGP, HDEF, ETH0&ETH1 and SMBUS just 4 for now...

this to find where the problem is...

So I have a system w/o DSDT but with 4 SSDT tables...

- Audio works

- Ethernet Built-in works

cya

Asus P6T SE, 0908 BIOS, chameleon 2.1 svn r1925

KP - first one after almost three years, PC based on Fabio's work mostly. :)

Deleted the DSDT and Extra/*mkext... and KP.

WAT!!!??? Digging in... editing org.chameleon.Boot.plist.

BEFORE:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
   <key>AtiConfig</key>
   <string>Cardinal</string>
   <key>CSTUsingSystemIO</key>
   <string>Yes</string>
   <key>EnableC2State</key>
   <string>Yes</string>
   <key>EnableC3State</key>
   <string>Yes</string>
   <key>EnableC4State</key>
   <string>Yes</string>
   <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
   <string>Yes</string>
   <key>GenerateCStates</key>
   <string>Yes</string>
   <key>GeneratePStates</key>
   <string>Yes</string>
   <key>Graphics Mode</key>
   <string>1440x900x32</string>
   <key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
   <string>Yes</string>
   <key>Kernel Flags</key>
   <string>arch=X86_64</string>
</dict>
</plist>

AFTER:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
 <key>AtiConfig</key>
 <string>Cardinal</string>
 <key>CSTUsingSystemIO</key>
 <string>No</string>
 <key>EnableC2State</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>EnableC3State</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>EnableC4State</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>GenerateCStates</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>GeneratePStates</key>
 <string>No</string>
 <key>DropSSDT</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>Graphics Mode</key>
 <string>1440x900x32</string>
 <key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>Kernel Flags</key>
 <string>arch=X86_64</string>
</dict>
</plist>

Now it boots fine, including hardware accelerated gfx on my Radeon HD 4850 - on a sidenote, I can use CSTUsingSystemIO=Yes but it corrupts my monitor setup, not related to the problem at hand. LAN also works with AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext from 10.6.8 in IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns - So that leaves me with PStates and DropSSDT.

An educated guess - it's only partially the fault of DSDT.aml (some residual PM strings?) - Apple changed something about the way they handle powerstates and I suspect that Chameleon also can't manage this...

For me with the rampage iii extreme i also don't get kp it simply doesn't boot up, mouse light goes off right away then it spins until it says i must reboot the computer. i deleted the dsdt.aml in /Extra and no go.

Hope we can find what's the issue, seems like mine and afd_sg's problems are different

Going to try the drop ssdt, if there's anything else you need tested let me know please :).

I don't get how to do the update.

so I have Lion 10.7.0 installed.

can somebody points out which machine on particular steps?

i.e. #1 -> is this on the hackintosh machine or other working mac?

#4 -> how do you reboot into a old OSX ?

#6 -> what is S/L/E?

TIA.

How update my new working Lion 10.7

to 10.7.1, 10.7.2 or 10.7.3?

  • You need an existing OSX to Repair/move rebuild cache ecc.
  • Update your Lion 10.7.0 or 10.7.1 to 10.7.2
  • Run Recreandae (from Lionize 1.07
  • Reboot into a old OSX (ex: Snow or Leopard or other Lion)
  • Open terminal and enter in sudo mode
    sudo -s
    Enter your admin password now...
    vsdbutil -i /Volumes/the_name_of_your_Lion_partition
  • Now I suggest to move FakeSMC from Extra/Extensions to S/L/E For this you can use Kext Wizard (In my case I move also AppleVIAATA.Kext) now remove that file from Extra/Extensions (Of course we talk about the Lion partition) Always from Kext Wizard now we can rebuild the cache and repair disk permission.. this take some time...
  • ) ok exit from sudo mode (Terminal)
    exit

Working on a hunch - back in the day, Fabio prepared CPU-specific DSDT's for my MoBo (Asus P6T SE). I got the i7 920, so I used that one (version 3.3) with these settings in org.chameleon.Boot.plist:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
 <key>Kernel Flags</key>
 <string>arch=X86_64</string>
 <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>AtiConfig</key>
 <string>Cardinal</string>
 <key>Graphics Mode</key>
 <string>1440x900x32</string>
</dict>
</plist>

thus omitting all P and C-state bootloader settings. AtiConfig is for my GPU obviously. Result:

The DSDT is linked below. NOTE: ONLY FOR THE ASUS P6T SE MoBo WITH CORE i7 920 (2,66GHz Nehalem Core) CPU!!!

are you saying that with this dsdt we can go to 10.7.4?
