makinoruki
Is better a IOREG from (IORegistryExplorer.app) goog...le for itand for the LsPCI googl..e for " LSPCI X64" (the firsr one). Fabio I removed the dsdt.aml and I got the [PCI configuration begin] freeze. So I started with npci=0x2000 and installed Lion. When I used ./finalize, after installing VoodooHDA Prefpane it says cp: directory /Volumes/Macintosh HD/usr/local/bin does not exist I tried to shut down but it is frozen. I had to manually restart and after that I tried to boot with npci=0x2000. Now I am stuck at Controller: NVidia (Unknown) (vendor ID: 10de, device ID: 0e09) Controller: NVidia (Unknown) (vendor ID: 10de, device ID: 0e09) Controller: NVidia (Unknown) (vendor ID: 10de, device ID: 0e09) (yes, it appeared 3 times in a row) I am guessing that means I need to modify NVDAGF100Hal.kext? BTW I have 2 Asus GTX 590 installed. So 2 issues here: 1. the finalize script 2. the Controller thing Thanks!
lee majors
Hi, this looks like a great solution. I would just like to confirm a couple of things before I go ahead. I'm currently using a hackintosh Snow Leopard 10.6.8 by your awesome previous method, Fabio. To upgrade this to Lion, do I need to create a partition on this existing disk and install to that? Once it's installed, would I then delete the Snow Leopard partition and increase the size of the Lion partition to regain the drive space that was taken up by Snow Leopard? And then use Time Machine to restore files to Lion?

Until 10.7.1 no problem... but I try some beta and until now I no find a good solution... So still with a working system! And try Lion on a "secondary" Hard Disk... KariNeko
Hello Fabrio !!!! Long time not here, good to see now you wrote a Lion installation on Asus X58 motheboards. PS: are you having problems with 10.7.2? I installed the GM like 2 days later than on my iMac and didn't have any problems with it since then. By the way it's on my primary hard disk. Greetings, Karina

Greetings, Karina Hi Karina. Yep on my "test" Lion partition I try several betas included the 10.7.2 GM on my P6T Deluxe and just don't boot... I still looking what and where is the problem... ( I also do a lot of experiment on that disk... so maybe is this) So you confirm on your X58 board no problem with the 10.7.2 GM? You use this method or what exactly the "patched" "way" you follow? thx Fabio
KariNeko
Hi Fabio, I think maybe your partition is messed up, I don't use your method but don't think that this has something to do with it. I'm using Lion since the DP releases and it got it installed using the USB flash drive method by tseug. The kexts used are the same ones from Snow Leopard as DSDT.aml, smbios.plist apple.com.Boot.plist/org.chameleon.Boot.plist with the following minor changes (that I think have nothing to do): Removed GenerateCStates and added CSTUsingSystemIO. Updated patched AppleHDA.kext by patching the current version. Updated Chameleon and settled now on v2.1svn1494 (for FaceTime fix). Everything else is the same. Hope it helps in someway. Kisses, Karina PS: with that method yesterday I installed Lion on my moms Hackintosh ( Asus P5LD2-VM SE, Core 2 Duo, 7300GT ) and it works perfect. The only problem that I had ( and has nothing to do with the install method ) is that when I put in the DSDT.aml I got stuck at the famous 'PCI configuration begin' and the only way to get pass that was to use EvilAppleACPIPlatform.kext & EvilIOPCIFamily.kext in /E/E. Too bad but at least it works. Now I'm looking for an updated patched AppleHDA.kext (Lion Native) for the ALC882. But the system is perfectly stable, same as mine. Fabio Hey Fabio I finally got it working by modifying your finalize script a bit for the VoodooHDA part (changed /usr/local/bin/ to /usr/bin/). After that I had to boot with -v -x npci=0x2000 or else I get a kernel panic. I found IORegistryExplorer.app and made a dump, but for LSPCI I could not get it working. It keeps saying "Cannot find any working access method". Any idea on how to get it working? I have attached my IOREG dump. Thanks! ioreg_dump.zip
lee majors
Hmm, what am I doing wrong? I've partitioned the USB, have a brand new drive partitioned and waiting... When I run Lionize it gets to "hdiutil: attach failed - no such file or directory" "logout" "[process completed]" I got my copy of Lion back on the day it was released from inside the InstallESD.dmg file; I dragged Install Mac OSX Lion.app from the .dmg into the /Applications folder as instructed... Anyone had this problem? Seems like it might be a problem with the install file... UPDATE: I solved this; for those also wondering what's going on, you need to not have removed the installESD.dmg from the Install OSX Lion.app package, it needs to be the whole package bundle (the .app and all its contents) If you already bought Lion, you can download it again by going to the App Store, and holding down alt while you click the "purchased" tab; this will make the "install" button available again. Click it, and then quit out of the installer once it's fully downloaded. The .app will be inside your /Applications directory.

I did It in my test partition installed following your guide and updated to 10.7.1. I installed 10.7.2 GM combo then run Recrendae form the Lionize V1.05.1 package. What I can say is that I can only boot using -f -v in Chameleon. When I try to boot without using the -f option I find an error related to USBMSC Identifier and It just doesn't boot. I can take I screenshot from the error if you wish. Hope this info can be helpful and Thanks for the GOOD WORK!!!! PiSToL
lee majors
Yay! Got it to work with no problems whatsoever. Confirmed working 100% on P6T Deluxe V2, GTX260. Many thanks to Fabio and all who've contributed to this guide.
Ajhu
I used the DSDT.aml from the OP and when i rebooted it just freezes at loading. I tried -v and it freezes exactly at ioACPIxxxx. I tried -x,-s still freezing. Now is there a command to force chameleon from not reading the DSDT.aml while booting or do i need to re-install again? sumbutrule
Fabio and all fellas, I decided to install the update 10.7.2 At the moment everything is up and running well I am not an experienced programmer, so I use some help with skilled programmers Applications to make some things easy the procedure I used was as follows: 1) Update Chameleon to ver. 2.1svn r1618 (using Chameleon Wizard) from here nice and useful App! 2) Install 10.7.2 (Software Update) First boot success! for those interested, sorting by date, I have noticed in S/L/E that were changed only 4 kexts: IOPCIFamily.kext System.kext IOGraphicsFamily.kext IONDRVSupport.kext and, reappear those horrible icons on internal drives I fixed this issue using ##### 4.0.2 (from Tonymacx86) apliying only IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector 3)Repair permissions and Rebuild system kext caches. (I prefer to use KextWizzard) from here by the way, putting all the kexts in S/L/E and using UseKextCache in org.chameleon.Boot.plist, Lion boot much faster that's all enjoy!... and keep us informed of your experiences

waynegretzky
P6T Deluxe (not V2) trip report: - No audio - Orange Icons Otherwise working. When I rebooted sound/Orange Icons were present. Then I ran "Kext Utility" and let it fix permissions and rebuild the kernel cache, rebooted, and now my sound is WORKING and my orange icons are GONE. Everything seems to be working as expected. The only problem left is that my 6670 doesn't seem to work with the new Chimera and 10.7.2 (which it did perfectly with 10.7.1) but that's not a problem for this thread. So if you are having trouble, try running Recrendae.command and then letting Kext Utility rebuild your cache.

scott_donald
now can anyone get iCloud to work from their hackintosh??? i get - This Apple ID is valid but is not an iCloud account. now from what i have searched you need to have the newest Chameleon.... as far as i know i do... now can anyone get iCloud to work from their hackintosh??? edit - solved... i was getting - com.apple.Boot.plist is depreciated when booting... so after research - 'Yes - this is the new format for Chameleon and Chimera boot.plist files. This should have been done ages ago to avoid people editing the vanilla com.boot.plist in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration The change was made in Chameleon a while ago and it will be in our new version of Chimera which is on it's way ....' Rename com.apple.Boot.plist in /Extra folder to org.chameleon.Boot.plist and now it works!!!!
