Install Install OS X Lion.app to Macintosh HD, and reboot normally to your Hackintosh 2. Make a new Partition, size : minimum 4.7GB 3. Download Mac OS X Lion Installer DVD Maker.pkg and install to new Partition, 4. Burn InstallerDVDLion-regae.iso in your Desktop to a Blank DVD5 Method #2 : if you download the OS X Lion as an Image (.dmg) 1. Make a directory in your root HD, name : Mac OS X Install DATA, and put InstallESD.dmg in this folder, so it should be located : "/Mac OS X Install DATA/InstallESD.dmg" 2. Make a new Partition, size : minimum 4.7GB 3. Download Mac OS X Lion Installer DVD Maker.pkg and install to new Partition, 4. Burn InstallerDVDLion-regae.iso in your Desktop to a Blank DVD5 How to Install Lion with this DVD Installer 1. Set the first boot to DVD Drive in your BIOS. 2. Chameleon will appear, and select (boot) to Mac OS X Lion (regae) 3. Install Lion to your HD, thats it, Advantage : - You Don't Need any bootcd to install Lion - You Don't Need any existing snow leopard or OS X (only for the first time to make this DVD) Shortage : - This is only for Intel Generic Desktop or Laptop not for AMD FAQ Q: What is this? A: This is a package that will make an .iso file which contains an installer for Mac OS X Lion with Chameleon Bootloader inside. Q: Is this required a BootCD to install? A: No, the iso already contains Chameleon Bootloader. Q: Can burned to a DVD5 or (Single Layer 4.7GB)? A: Yes, the .iso file only 4.4 - 4.5 GB. Q: Can be used for any Computer? A: No, this is only for Intel Generic Desktop or Laptop. Q: This will damage the existing Hackintosh? A: No, absolutely NO! It seems to work like x Move by Tony(something?? i will Google it later.) X Move & this installer knows where Lion.app store it's install files. Can someone with the tech know-how do a detail install of lion.app for us, with what the installer is doing and where it's putting the files, any modification been done, etc... Thank you. It should be this smbios.plist. I'm going to be grabbing this so I can banish Snow from my dual-partition all-OS X HDD after I migrate to Sandy Bridge. Why? Simple enough - there are no applications or hardware that run only in Snow (either currently or planned to be added post-migration) and it saves from having to reinstall *all*. Side benefit - currently I have three hard drives (one used entirely for install images/utilities - currently, it's an ex-Dell 40 GB PATA) and I can move it to offline storage (and out of my case) either before or after conversion to SATA. Speaking of which - can Disk Utility (in either Snow or Lion) copy an entire drive (partitions and all) to another drive? I'd like migrating that drive to be as pain-free as is feasible. I know DU works with images and partitions - I just don't know if it's capable of tackling an entire drive. (The destination will likely be larger than the source, as 40 GB *SATA* HDDs aren't exactly common.) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
