tdtran1025
It does not work in my setup of Lion Server with RAID0. It asks for mach_kernel. So I added mach_kernel to both helper partitions of Boot OS X. It would be nice to add support to kernel cache found in /Boot OS X/S/L/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Starup/kernelcache But after fiddling around with it, I got it to work. BTW, support for newer NVidia and ATI cards are much welcomed and appreciated.

androdev
I followed instructions and Lion won't boot. It seems that kexts from extra_kext/common were not loaded. Please help.
androdev
Yes, I have -v flag in config. It boots kernel and then I have KP on AppleCPUPM. That means NullCPUPM don't loaded. What do you mean correctly? All I did is copying my .kexts to extra_kext/common. Also on your screens I see that you have FakeSMC_kext not FakeSMC.kext. Still waiting for solution

kirasir
dsdt Note that is says Cpu 7 has no hpet assigned to it. So it probably does not read the dsdt.aml or something. I will see what is going on and report back. dsdt
EvilAlivE
I'm trying to use this method. At the "boot sector session", I got a problem with Type makeusb.bat X: (Replace X with the drive letter of your usb stick, look in "Computer" to see what it is). I got an error , something like "error 2003". I've opened the .bat file, and I've found: @Genbootsector.exe -o %EFI_BOOT_DISK% -i Bs32.bin The file in the zipfile was named bs32.bin. After name upgrading, all goes well. hope it helps (now rebooting and trying to install lion )

Dan949
Thank you for this thread. I have a problem with the bootloader. When the boot loader is loaded, my keyboard (usb) shut down and i can't choose the Install partition. The usb key stay ok and if i connect a mouse i have lights on it but nothing on the keyboard if i try to unplug/replug. Does someone have an idea about that ? Is there a setting in "settings.plist" to change ? Sorry for my English. Thanks

But there is also USB settings in bios that you can try to mess with. That's all i know.
kenzoe
Thank you for perfect guide. I tried XPC in 10.6, 10.7 and dual boot with Win7. All worked perfectly. But I still can't install XPC on HDD. After pressing Shift+I in boot menu, it say at first "Efildgpt copy error. Not found" and then "Boot is patched successfully". Efildgpt lay on both XPC partitions at USB stick and EFI partition. Does anybody have some ideas about subj?

Farx
Of course, XPC has no problem with Lion. But, there is some trouble with Mountain Lion. XPC couldn't load any kext in folder extra_kext when booting Mountain Lion.
