jlvaio
Small command line tool that checks the capabilities of your graphics hardware & OS to decode h264 videos on your GPU. Apple doesn't seems to allow all GPU's to use the System Framework, despite the fact that they have the hardware capabilities (like Geforce 8800 or Fermi cards). The tool have the same error codes like other VDA Software (XBMC) but its easier to test. On Lion with current Fermi drivers i get an error by the decoder. You can try it and post your software & hardware combination. requires Mac OS X 10.6.3 SourceCode on GitHub Feel free to contribute on Github Download precompiled binary (Intel 32/64-Bit): could it be good for vaio problem: internal screen black when qe/ci http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...8556&st=
scorcho
I get the same message on my GTX 460. Thanks for the tool, very depressing! I'll remember to run this whenever I'm feeling too happy. This has also fixed in Lion's Fermi drivers

scorcho
Is there any way to really run the h.264 tests to see if they are accelerated? yep - watch a H.264 video in your preferred browser and check the console. if hardware acceleration is active you'll see something like this - 7/22/11 9:20:03.519 AM [0x0-0xb80b8].org.mozilla.firefox: Successfully connected to the Intel plugin add to that, processor usage will be very insignificant.
