ileikcaek
Updated and it killed my sound (new AppleHDA) so I had to replace it with the kext from 10.6.2 again. (ALC888S) boot does seem faster that's for sure.
miqlas
Works ok on Acer Aspire 5730ZG (5930 variant)
tompic823
SleepEnabler.kext requires pmVersion to be set to 23 in 10.6.8. Edit: NeoMatrix125 is correct, SleepEnabler causes a KP. Delete it to boot.

BiTRiP
After this upgrade my system hangs at boot with last line: [ PCI configuration begin ] Any ideas why? Booting in safe mode doesn't work either, neither with option GraphicsEnabler=No

neomatrix125
SleepEnabler is a No go for this one If you have SleepEnabler, Delete the Kext and update! You will get kernel panics otherwise! Also BiTRiP I had that too but it seemed to just go past it and boot :/

douggle
Glad that worked for you! FKA i know, I had the same GFX issues On both Lion DP4 AND 10.6.8 until i switched kexts then it was fine after that Apple has seemingly changed something up Not quite sure but using the older kexts worked out perfect for me
webplus
Works fine on my Gigabyte G31M-ES2L (had to remove and reinstall VoodooHDA-0.2.56.pkg) but it's completely broken Wi-Fi. I had been using a Belkin (Broadcom BCM4306 based) PCI card but that refused to be seen in Lion DP, so I replaced with a Broadcom BCM4318 MiniPCI wireless card plugged into a PCI adapter which worked flawlessly in 10.6.7 and Lion DP4 but it refuses to work with 10.6.8. The card is seen but is off, try and turn it on and it tries but times out and reverts to off again. Also, the the system is very unresponsive while it's plugged in - lots of slowdowns and spinning beach ball - but fine when removed. *** EDIT: Seem to have fixed this now. I used the same fix that worked in Lion DP. I removed the Wi-Fi card, performed a fresh installation of 10.6.0, then ran MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.8.dmg, then replaced the Wi-Fi card. It seems that updating with the card plugged in causes problems, so the key is to perform a new installation without the card and only replace once the latest update has been applied.
