C.-BruShiS
If you use F12 method, please do not select USB-HDD in the list but first select Hard Disks and then select USB-HDD0. Thank you, that worked for me at least one time, but than i got errors on booting: and after that "still waiting for root device". i wanted to try another usb port, but the USB-HDD0 never showed up in the F12-Menu again. SKORPI0
Thanks, successfully installed 10.7 but stuck using USB stick to boot. Used kexts and com.apple.Boot.plist from 10.6.6. Tried using..... Open up a terminal via the Utilities menu: CODE./finalize /Volumes/Lion Message says "no such file or directory". Using latest Chameleon, dual boot with SL 10.6.6 on a 500GB SATA drive (2 partitions), drive is mounted.

narcotico
I can understand that by the error message, but I don't see anything about it in the guideline and I don't know the app. Which software do I need install? or which is default directory if it is part of mac os? Thanks a lot.

Could you tell me anything else about this? Thanks a lot.
kkelis
Intel Q9550 EP45T-DS3R 4x2GB Corsair XMS 1333 Powercolor ATI HD4870 1gb I am booting from the USB device. My graphics card is reported as working in that thread. I have included a tailor-made DSDT of my motherboard. Script ran ok. I rebooted from the usb, all the kexts were loaded and I get to the installation screen with the brushed metal background, and that's about it. It gets stuck there and there's no activity on the usb. I can only see the background.

I can only see the background. Answering to myself, I hadn't placed the dsdt.aml in the correct folder. After I did that, setup booted fine, and installation went by smoothly. Audio wasn't working (ALC889a), so I used ##### to restore the original audio kexts and then (via ##### again) I installed the non-DSDT kexts, which just work. Everything else seems to be in order. Thank you tseug. and can i upgrade to Snow Leopard without spoiling my current configuration? You can't tell with certainty, but I'd guess that most probably no. Upgrades tend to break the installation or create issues with sound/graphics etc. Lots of things have changed with osx86 since 10.5.x. I'd go with a fresh install. Even if you can get it to work, you'll spend a lot of time fixing stuff. tseug's method is a piece of cake to follow and works like a charm. Carl_XII
Thanks to this eminent guide I have now installed Lion on a EP45-DS3 board with ALC889a audio. Wifi works with a Netgear USB adapter, WG111v3, using the 10.4 installer from Netgears site (and booting in 32 bit mode). App Store works fine and Software Update also. A Magic Trackpad has been installed using a Belkin Mini Bluetooth USB adapter. Graphics card 8800 GT 512 MB works perfectly. Thanks and best wishes! Edit: So far the only problem is loss of bluetooth connection to trackpad after sleep. Will try modified kext for Broadcom chip and report back later. sickr1rider
I have lion successfully installed but my dvi to hdmi does not work any more (have to use dvi to vga). It works great in my snow leopard partition. I use efi studio 1.1 to load in the string. Is there a better way to do it in lion? I can get full res in lion but anything graphics intensive stutters bad. Starcraft 2 is unplayable where as it plays great in snow leopard. I am thinking about getting the new 27' led apple thunderbolt display. I would also upgrade my graphics card. Should I get the mac edition of the ati 5870 or would the xfx 6870 work with the 27' acd? Any advice would be helpful

Joel_Ellis
Cheers for the great guide mate, I finally got Lion installed on my computer. Ep35-DS3 with E5200 PowerColor 5450 1gb 2 SATA drives Had to change to the latest Chameleon. My graphic card didn't work well with the included Chameleon. I also changed the boot.plist to suite my setup. I can't get power management and sleep to work without nullpowermangement. But I don't care that much since I hate have my PC go to sleep . b0cks
Hi all, just confirming this almost completely worked with my ASUS P6T. Not sure if that's bad or good, are there things I should do to ensure compatability? I've had almost zero problems so far. The only things that I had to fix were: Replace the existing AppleHDA with Marionez’ AppleHDA to get sound working. Everything else was working, but I couldn't login to the App Store so I added: <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> to my boot plist and everything was working 100%. I also installed with the DSDT.aml I found from here: http://trick77.com/2009/10/12/asus-p6t-64-bit-osx86/ Specs: i7 920 C0 ASUS P6T NVIDIA GTX

ardation
boot0: error Boot0 Error Fix After searching the internet, solutions like this seemed to have changed the behavior of the PC. Although I'm unsure if it fixed anything. Now what seems to happen is when I plug in the USB device, the PC freezes at the BIOS Loading screen. Hmm. sickr1rider
I just wanted to let everyone know that I updated to 10.7.1 without a problems through the standard software update. My 9800gtx still doesn't work dvi to hdmi which is did fine in SL. It does work fine dvi to vga tho. I am using efi studio 1.1 is there something better to possibly get hdmi going like it is in SL?
