Well the problem is that you would need people who have core duos that are not in a real mac. I guess all "4" of you guys can get that going... but in the meantime the rest of us will do what we need to so our computes are supported.

The general opinion around here is most likely going to be no.

 

If people were willing to go out and buy new Core Duos for this project... they'd prolly just buy a Mac.

 

The rest just want it to work on what they have.

I think the real issue will be HPET. Only HPET procoessors (as opposed to RTC Pentiums), Core Duo (Yonah) and above may above may supported in the future. I do not know what this means for AMD fanboys.

 

Bofors I can see HPET available on my motherboard D945GNTL with latest bios with my Pentium 4 650 so have you tryied flashing your motherboard recently?

Because the 945 chipset supports Core 2 Duo, we know it supports HPET. I think there is still a question about whether HPET works with the Pentiums or not. However, your report certainly suggests it does. The real test here would be running an HPET OSx86 kernel.
