killer567
Hi @jkbuha Did you get your clover setup working fully without DSDT? Can you please share your clover setup (e.g. all the files related to clover)? Thanks

jkbuha
Here you go guys. Fully UEFI-enabled 10.9 friendly kexts for the 15z with 1080p and i7-2620m processor. (AND ONLY FOR THE 15Z). There are a number of small but significant changes to TW's rig, namely as follows: 1) I have attached my modded AppleHDA kext as these patches are different from the original kext patches. In fact I currently have a patched 10.9.0 kext with the respective layout28 and Platform xmls and the additional Config that needs to be pushed either via FakeSMC (nice touch TW btw; I didn't realise you had pushed amls to the kexts so they wouldnt be touched by subsequent updates). 2) With a DSDT-free system I had everything working bar the ALC269; after much toil and trouble I decided to bring back the DSDT just to make everything work properly. In theory a DSDT-free patch should also work for the ALC269; in practice life is too short. 3) I have opted for the EAPD-separate kext instead of patching the PS2 controller; reason is that Rehabman's kext doesn't play nicely with our Cypress touchpad so I have opted for the older kexts instead. Any questions (or even better - improvements) please shout. 060G42.zip
t6590
your config file seems to be where my troubles begin . could you give me a run down of how you came upon these values i feel i have to do some editing on my side . other noted issues my laptop has rejected all your kexts i may retry your HDA with my old config. currently now i get spontaneous crashes that result in loss of audio on boot [and a need to reinstall kext to work]. i also need to know if you modded your ACPI kext coz yours doesn't work went back to mine. with your fakesmc no desktop it hangs. This in turn reminds me is there any other thing about your environment i need to know of. is it also possible to tell me how i can retrieve crash info coz the logs show nothing. jkbuha
Most of the config comes from TW's well thought out settings for the Vostro 3450; I have just made specific changes for the 15z, such as the following: 1) Device-properties; to enable Dual-Link for the 1080p display 2) BAT0 & B1B2 specific mods for the 15z specific DSDT 3) ALC269 Kext-specific patches that weren't in TW's original plist; namely change <8508ec10 74103d84 19d411> to <00000000 74103d69 02ec10> ACPI kexts are not modified any further. If my fakesmc is not working you can use yours and inject the PinConfig in the similar way by modifying the info.plist. Re: environment; what hardware (and OS) do you have? In regards to the15z, to install with your uploaded zip, any install method should work as long as using your kexts? or are there any specific extra things to do? sorry I am trying to do something different. Any help would be much appreciated.

Any help would be much appreciated. Depends what you're trying to do. If you're planning on running chameleon - as I do occasionally - you will need to patch the Kexts directly and stick them in s/l/e. Also any dsdt patches would need to be done directly into Extra as well. dell xps 15z core i5 2450, intel 3000, 6gb ram, nvidia 540m, 750gb hdd, 1080p display; OSes is dual boot win7 and OSX 10.9 laptop was flashed with your bios mods-latest. Ah. Thought you knew how to set P-states and C-states sorry for this. You obviously need to remove SSDT-1.aml as it is for the i7-2620. Replace it with yours or else remove it altogether. I also used jkbuha's files which got me to the spinning circle on boot . What am I doing wrong? My install method: http://olarila.com/f...php?f=31&t=3836 which uses Clover bootloader. I am losing it. Please help...anyone!!
t6590
boot in verbose then post what you see when it hangs don't boot in graphical mode before you have a complete system because you must diagnose incase of such issues. i was going to tell you its this or that but if its jkbuhas files you may need to change the fakesmc it doesn't like our i5 15z . but note to do this only after you've booted verbose to see whats happening under the hood. youngwake
Alright, I will do that now. I ran in Verbose mode. The system booted into the Mac Screen but only with the spinning wheel and remained there for over 20 mins. I've managed to get 10.9 working on my G73SW with zero issues. I just dont understand the xps 15z. I give up. However, thanks for your input
jkbuha
Not sure if this will help, but it worked for me. Stick this into your org.Chameleon.boot.plist (or Clover config.plist) and replace your existing device-properties field: <key>device-properties</key> <string>dc0000000100000002000000800000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff0400240000004100410050004c00300030002c004400750061006c004c0069006e006b00000008000000010000002e0000004100410050004c002c0073006e0062002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000000000100500000000100000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000010101060000007fff0400240000004100410050004c00300030002c004400750061006c004c0069006e006b0000000800000001000000</string>

DawTaylor
can someone post there files for l502x I'm trying to boot with clover guid …..i have the i7 2630qm ..im trying to boot maverick but it get stuck on the apple logo or please give me some directions on how to boot with clover on this particular laptop Here's my EFI folder, just install Clover with EFI option checked and replace your EFI folder with mine. You may need to change something in the config.plist, since my L502X has an I5-2450M cpu. https://www.dropbox.com/s/mikat836lcyb742/EFI.zip Maybe Doix's EFI would be better for you. Also you can try my EFI folder with Doix's config.plist. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/257950-guide-dell-xps-15-l502x-early-2011-snow-leopard-install-possibly-l702x-too/?p=1936949

DawTaylor
@one, Is your display 1080p? I really don't remember having much problems with graphics. Forgot to mention, you need to change "CustomUUID" with "Hardware UUID" (can be found on system profiler) and "DefaultBootVolume" with your system boot volume. jkbuha
You need to override your default EDID in System/Library/Displays/Overrides - it's been documented by myself on this forum and I've actually written a separate post about this elsewhere on how to do this. TW has also explained this a few pages back.
