First I would like to thank you for all your nice achievements for the L502x/L702x and I am appreciating your upcoming Info about DSDT.

Does your DSDT perhaps deal with USB Conflicts or could you help out in that area ?

My Dell L702X (with 1030N Bluetooth internally connected via EHCI USB) conflicts with the Audio and connecting an compatible WLAN-Stick results in Kernel Panics, not fully booting or no Bluetooth anymore. And all the time the stick is recognized but not working.

Please boot with -v and cause a kernel panic then upload a picture of it.

Hey! I'm going to try this tomorrow :D I have a few questions I would love if someone could answer them! Sorry if they're nooby :P

1. Can I Dual Boot ? (Only for gaming)

2. Can I use iAtkos L1 - if so what packages to choose on installation

3. Where do I find the correct drivers and/or DSDT.aml files? There's so many shared on this thread I don't know which one to use! :D

Would really appreciate if someone could answer that, and also I think it would clear up for people who else want to do this :D

Also I'm buying the AR5BXB72 card that will work right?

To dual boot: install windows 7 first then the osx install will install the chimera boot loader over that one and it should work perfectly.

Download iAtkos L1 and either restore DMG to USB drive or burn to cd with transmac in windows. Install options are on page 6 by DoiX

Correct DSDT and kexts are in my above post . Or you can use DoiX package on page 6. It's easier, but personally there have been a couple issues with it like permissions and incorrect installs. Manual kext install should work fine

@morbidangel, install NullCPUPowerManagement.kext (it's in #####) report if kernel panics still happen.

OK have sorted my issues I think...one was an edit boot plist that had disabled kernel cache the other was just a next reinstall away from working.

Now I'm just wondering re battery life - i have way less in OSX than in windows - I have the 9 cell battery get about 5 hours or so in Win 7 and about 3-3.5 in OSX

Can i check somehow that speedstep (3 levels) is working?

Thanks

NullCPUPowermanagement lets me boot up and I had success with the WLAN-Stick, Bluetooth via internal USB does not.

I was able to get everything working, even without NullCPUPowermanagement for some minutes with adding static IRQ to my HPET but at the moment I dont know how to do it correctly.

If you check DoiX's original speed stepping guide on pg 6, you'll find a link to a post talking about Speed stepping and at the bottom of the guide should be a reference to a M***Dumper.kext. If you load that in terminal it should tell you if speed stepping is working correctly.

I am going to try installing Lion this weekend. I hope everything works out. For the wifi can I use the Asus N10 instead of opening up the whole computer? Google says it supports lion . Btw great effort DoiX and others . Really appreciate it. People like you make the community better !!

Edit : do all the fn keys work? And those touch buttons? Backlit controls?

Don't know about the wifi. But everything works. The touch buttons dont to my knowledge cause they are assigned a specific function only activated with the windows driver.

Uhm, honestly i didn't bother with it, in my case the first touch button (the settings one) when i press it it inputs this ≈≈≈≈≈≈, the others do not activate anything...

I noticed my P states are a little high compared to yours. How do I lower them? I have the 9 state SSDT installed:

That comment about USB 3.0 is interesting. The 4.1 update *fixed* my USB ports as the wifi stick is now being recognised and powered appropriately. All my usual devices are working well.

Those pstates are correct. from 8 to 20 is the normal cpu under clocking, above is where the SSDT kicks in.

9 States will show 21 22 23 ... 29

3 State one will show 26 27 29, 29 being reached harder so it results in less heat and more battery.

I just got a AR5B93 wifi card, works out of the box, unless you got the old intel card installed in the second port... conflicts occur.

Edit: Well both work now after i did this: put the atheros card in the first slot, boot up the laptop, make sure its connected to a wifi network, then put the laptop to sleep, insert the intel card in the wwan slot, wake the laptop up.

@Morbidangel, you simply do not use a SSDT, your processor should be at a max 20

Update: Installed package fixed, erhm i hope... i didn't encounter any problems with installing the kext using that package on my laptop.

Please report if you do, also DON'T FORGET TO REBOOT, with or without errors.

Any ideas about how to improve it are welcome!
