Mebster Posted August 25, 2006 Share Posted August 25, 2006 Has anyone installed OSX 10.4.6 (in particular) or any other version and tried to use the OSX online update to update the system to 10.4.7? Does anyone know what happens? I installed 10.4.6 a while back and only managed to get my internet working today and when I did, I got asked if I want to download install and update to 10.4.7. So I did. Now I can't get back into OSX and am wondering if it because of the download. The reason I’m not sure if it's because of that is because the download was no where near complete (50% at most) and my system crashed. So am wondering if it's because of something else I did or because of the download. Can I basically download everything except the new 10.4.x releases? wesley Posted August 26, 2006 Share Posted August 26, 2006 You probably want to check the forums when new updates show up, but so far, if you've managed to have a patched 10.4.7 running (I did 10.4.6 -> JaS 10.4.7 patch -> SemjaZa 10.4.7 update, but JaS 10.4.7 install should be the same) then Apple-supplied updates should all install without a hitch. Likely to be so until 10.4.8 update when it comes out later. After installing the osx86 i got a apple update, it installs everything great except "Ma osx 10.4.7 (Intel)" (136MB BIG), after that it crasheds. I have test that for two times nou cos i wanted to know if i can update that seperetly and NO is the answer. What ive done just to be safe is dl his 10.4.7 update (the Jas update not the website one) once i did that rebooted usin the live cd to get me to oSx then running the update i was able to get the security patch just fine i dont care for quicktime or itunes those are the 2 things i wish never existed so Those are deleted off my system um. the java update i didnt mess with but according to JAs you should be able to with out any worries.
