xxshabsxx
Is it possible to install Lion, using your method, if your bios doesn't support AHCI? If so, do I need a custom DSDT.aml file? And if so....how do I make it to tailor my machine.

RocketLynx
Just will not let me install... I've tried this method (MaLd0n), Tseug's Method and TonyMac86's method. I've tried several USB flash drives, different USB ports and different SATA ports. All of them give the same results: After selecting the hard drive to boot from with F-12 (selecting the USB Flash Drive), the Chameleon boot begins and I select the Install partition and then it ends here with this as the last thing on the screen: "Bootcachecontrol: unbable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist Bug: Launchtl.c:2308 (24957):30: ....." That's It! I've tried using the other DVI port and tried using the analog video (15 pin) to the monitor to see if it switched to a different video output but I always get the same results. I'm using a GA-EP45-UD3P v 1.6 with Cartri 0.8 BIOS, a Q9550 processor and an EVGA 9800GTX+ video card. I'm wondering if it is the Cartri BIOS. Has anyone had success with THIS Motherboard with the CARTRI BIOS? The only reason I haven't flashed back is because I have a perfect running 10.6.8 system! Any suggestions? D-an-W
RocketLynx, I am pretty sure it's the BIOS as I have used MaLd0n's method several times on this hardware now without issue.
RocketLynx
use original biosuse DSDT in Extra folder RocketLynx, I am pretty sure it's the BIOS as I have used MaLd0n's method several times on this hardware now without issue. Thanks to the both of you for the rapid responses. The BIOS seemed to be the only thing left. I'm considering re-flashing this weekend and giving it a try. Now I have to figure out which Gigabyte BIOS for my version board I should re-flash with because there's FB, FD, FE and a FFb.

colordeficiency
This is getting frustrating! Sleep is not working on this install yet again, it was working in the previous installation of Lion. Like magically, but this time it is not. Do I need to generate DSDT with SMBIOS already inside or it can be generated just booting the USB installer into my HD plain and simple? D-an-W
alvinblank, upgrading to 10.7.1 also broke sleep for me until I did a full reinstall. I have no idea why, it just refused to go to sleep at all following the update.
colordeficiency
I did a full reinstall TWICE and still it's not working. It was working fine previously. Not sure what is wrong this time.

And no matter how i try to get it booting, the thing wins all the time and reboots itself without me even seeing a single error. Thinking my dsdt could be at fault here Its got a 2630qm, a radeon 6770m 2 gigs with the usual hd3000. I'm totally at loss here.. this lappy would be a total macbook pro killer if i'd get it up. ZGMi
Having the same problem here on my Asus p5q pro MB. After POST, it just can't proceed. Will keep posted if I find the cause. I'm having problems booting the installer USB stick. I have tried several different USB sticks, including a USB WD Passport Drive. No problem preparing the USB devices but when I try to boot, my system freezes during the BIOS post sequence.

komodo_1
Hhi all. Mald, thanks for your good guide. I was thinking about an hw upgrade but, before, I would understand if last hw is already supported. I'ld like to buy a i7 2600k, a mob z68(x or xp) and 2 SLI/CFX gpus. Is this kind of hw all supported for OSx? Can i get energy managment working on it (are P/C-States working now)??If not, could it damage my system or do I just need to manage my fans manually? Thanks in advance. D. EDIT: Ok. I found the DSDT Auto-Patcher's supported mob page (Link)
