Thank you very much. It works great on HP DV2999ET Artist Edition. The only problem was about Keyboard and Mouse. Touchpad and Keyboard working normally but Lion does not accept them. And it insists on bluetooth or usb mouse. After installing lion, I had to buy a usb keyboard to skip the welcome screen. In every boot it still looking for keyboard and mouse. Other than that everything working great except WiFi and HDMI output.

Running a GA-P35-DS3 board with 2GB ram and a Core2Duo Intel E4500 (2.2GHz) chip. I'm currently running 10.6.8 without issue but would like to update to the newest version if possible (maybe its better where I am?)

Anyways, I made the installer USB as directed in the OP and had no issues. When I reboot the computer with said USB, files start loading (can see verbose) and continues for around 30 seconds until it just restarts. I never see the installer app. It's like the installer starts to load, but then hits something and the whole cpu just reboots.

Any idea?

Exactly the same problem here with GA-P35-DS3 rev. 2.1. Did you find a solution for this?

Hey,

trying to install on a Gigabyte P35-DS3 mobo but when I start the machine from USB Stick (creating USB was no problem) the system restarts before entering the setup of lion. I attached a picture of the last messages shown.

No other error messages or panics, just a restart. So I'm not able to enter the regular install process. Any suggestions please?

I tried to install OSX Lion on my PC using this guide but I can't manage to get my harddrive recognized by the OSX installer. I have a Samsung HD501LJ which I formated as HFS+ using the Gparted Live CD. Once the PC booted from my USB and the install shows up, I can only see my USB Stick as possible partition for an installation. Even the Disk Utility does not show my 500GB. Do you have an idea why this is the case? Is it possible, that my HDD is not supported by OSX?

I ended up getting this same panic when I restored used the "Mac OS X Install ESD" image to restore instead of the doing the BaseSystem.dmg restore followed by copying the packages as described by Mald0n in the original posting. I only tried it it that way because the directions here aren't working for me.

My system is freezing after the kernel starts and at the line "FakeSMCDevice: 17 keys added". Screenshot is attached. I've also had it stop after the "PCI configuration end" line, but maybe not following the exact procedure to build the bootable USB flash as described here.

I have also tried using a DSDT I built using an existing Leopard install on this Acer 5920g laptop. I extracted the DSDT without any other DSDT present in / or /Extra before boot, and then ran it through Mald0n's auto-patcher with the settings for the 5920. The 5920g looks to be a 5920 but with 8600M GT 256MB Graphics. I added that card to the DSDT, including NVCAP bits for HDMI support taken from a 5920g thread on this board. I have attached this DSDT in case anyone wants it, but I haven't tested it much other than booting Leopard successfully with it for a couple weeks.

To install the DSDT and appropriate kexts, I installed tonymac's ##### 3.8 to the USB created with Mald0n's procedure, but only after moving the /Extra folder to avoid conflicts. The only kext ##### put in /E/E is FakeSMC. I can now use the USB stick to boot into Leopard 10.5.8 on my hard drive, but when trying to boot the Lion GM Installer it freezes after "RTC: Only single RAM bank (128 bytes)". I don't even see FakeSMC getting a chance to run. A second screenshot is attached of this.

Any ideas?

hello man, I'm going through hard times here, hope someone can help me out.

I have a successfully instalation following this tutorial, but installed to a USB hard drive.

Yesterday I finnaly got a BIOS mod(asus p5k-se) running and managed to turn on AHCI so the LION installation could see my SATA drives. I partition the HD correctly but at the installation I'm stucked at "Mac OS X can't be installed on this computer" message. Tried the modded OSinstall, no progress too, same error.

wondering what should I do now...

edit:

tried the other tutorial, installation without USB, HD to HD, and its running now!
