Hi mald0n thanks for the guide!

A couple questions:

1) is ps2 keyb/mouse working during/after install in laptops?

2) is extra-LionDP4.Pkg ok for FINAL rel too? Or is there an updated extra folder to use?

Thanks!

Mal

1- Yes

voodoops2 is there

2- Yes

Thanks for this great post!

I followed every step and get Lion installed successfully!

However in the post-installation step, I got stuck. My mainboard is Asus P8P67 Deluxe, after installation there is not internet connection (no driver i guess?), so there is no way for me to use the DSDT patcher tool...

I installed Extra and Chameleon, but after restarting i got KP...

Any suggestion? Thanks again!

When I try to Boot the USB Stick

First, I stuck with PCI Configuration Begin..

So I replace IOPCIFamily.kext in the USB Stick

And Rapair Permission (chown -R 0:0...) For that kext

And I found the second problem T_x"

It stuck at "DSMOS has arrived" , Don't go any further, and didn't boot to the installation screen

My spec is

- Acer travelmate 4740G -

Mainboard : travelmate 4740G

CPU : Intel Core i5-460M @2.53Ghz (2 cores, 4 threads)

Graphics Card : nvidia geforce GT330M

Soundcard : Realtek ALC 272X

RAM DDR3 : 2 GB (1334 Mhz)

Help me Please -/\-

It's a bug with Gigabyte boards, someone said to format the stick as MBR (I think), but I did it with Chameleon installed on a 1GB partition on the HD instead.

D-an-W,

Are you running Snow Leopard along with Lion? Are you using the original Snow Leopard Chameleon partition to boot into Lion or does Lion have it's own Chameleon?

I'm using blackosx install that uses one hard drive partitioned into three: Cham, Snow Leopard and SL Storage.

I'd like to install Lion onto it's own HD, but for redundancy would like both Snow Leopard and Lion to be independent of each other's Chameleon incase one HD takes a dump. Is this doable or should I just use the Cham partition to boot up both Snow Leopard and Lion?

Thanks!

John

I installed your usb version sucessfully. I used your Extra_boot,Chameleon and DSDT Auto Patcher.I had to boot with npci=0x2000 every time otherwise it hangs at "PCI configuration begin".I fixed it buy using ##### and selecting Drivers&Bootloaders->Misc->IOPCIfamilyFix. I have Geforce 480 and Geforce 260 216 which i use for physx and cuda in Windows so i can't remove secondary gpu. There is only 1 resolution under display "1024x786". I have enabled Graphics enabler = 1,PCI root =1,Graphics Mode=1920x1200x32 to boot sucessfully into os but i have only 7mb of VRAM i don't know what to do and how to patch the DSDT.aml. Its laggy when i use a folder in launch pad and mission control the transistions are laggy. When quicktimes goes full screen seems to be laggy and the animation artifacts.I'm able to run Chess and play it but i don't know how the game should look and run. I even used netkas.org for patching the hex values in geforceGLdriver inside the Geforce bundle to get opencl.I don't know where i have gone wrong. I'm very new to this. And every time i reboot it shows different memory available like 13mb,7mb,3mb etc. Are kexts are drivers for Mac? Correct me if i'm wrong. I learnt that the issue has something to do with HDMI-DVI connection for showing only 1 resolution but for VRAm i got no idea.

My specs:

Cpu:-Core i7 920@3.4 D0 stock voltage 1.2 Nehelam Archi,Bloomfeild version(during installation i defaulted) using as MacPro 4,1

Motherboard:Asus Rampage 2 Extreme LGA 1366, Bios Version:2002

Ram:-6gb ram

Video:-Zotac Geforce 480,Evga Geforce 260 216

Sound:-Creative x-fi titanium fatality Champion(someone at projectosx had a modified voodoohda kext file i simply installed and worked but only 2.1 not 5.1 i.e orange and black port connection test failed)

Network:-Marvell Yukon 8056(installed from kexts.com)

Harddisk:Western Digitals

Booting from the USB Stick on my Toshiba Satellite R630 i get the following error:

using 64-bit bootcache playlist
BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 No such file or directory
Bug: launchctl.c:2408 (24957):30: (dbfd = open(g_job_overrides_db_path, O_RDONLY | O_EXLOCK | O_CREAT, S_IRUSR | S_IWUSR)) != -1

Any idea whats wrong?

Thanks very much, MaLd0n, for this guide. I've got most stuff working now after a few hiccups.

I was having troubles getting my Lion hard drive to boot (probably because it's a 2tb drive) so I ended up installing chameleon manually to an EFI partition (I used build 1187). I kept my Extra folder on the Lion partition so only the boot file (and boot1h) is on the EFI partition. I also renamed my com.apple.Boot.plist file to org.chameleon.Boot.plist. This configuration seems to be working and stable after trying numerous times to get graphics working. I hope putting boot and the Extra folder on separate partitions isn't too much of a faux pas.

My dsdt.aml file seems to be working well for sleep (except for automatic system sleep) and hd icons, but I have yet to get sound working. I tried generating the dsdt file both in os x and windows with auto-patcher. I'm not sure what to try now, but I did have sound working fully on S.L. so hopefully it won't be too hard. It's just been a while. I can't quite remember what I did.

my system is a asus p5k-e wifi ap board (ad 1988b sound), q6600, 8gb ram, 8800gt

Hi, I have a Dell XPS i7 Sandybridge and wondered if there is a guide that incorporates all steps into one guide for Sandybridge? Every guide I read seems to then lead to a million and one other posts you need to follow to get around issues with Sandybridge.

I have an 8gb usb drive and I have another laptop running osx 10.6.8 so I should have the resources needed, I just wanted to know if there is a specific guide covering Sandybridge and its required workarounds to get Hackintosh to work?

Hi!

I had a problem with install.

I booted from USB drive, but it is freezing after few minute.

I attached photo afore, and from freeze.

I can move the mouse cursor on the secound picture, but nothing happened.

What can I do?

I am using ATIROM for 5770 and string in com.apple.boot.plist and I use boot file for dual monitor.

maybe these are the problem...

I can made it now

Thank you very much!!! -/\- ><"

Whoever have the same problem as me

The installation boot until "DSMOS has arrived" and don't go any further

First of all you must Partition Your USB Stick as GUID Partition

And next step from the guide

(Don't Forget to install Extra DP4.pkg and Chameleon)

And when you have to Patch the installation to make it able to be installed in MBR

Patch another file > "OSinstall" in "Private Framework/..." (Attached file)

And when you boot from the USB stick and stuck at PCI configuration begin

Don't try to replace "IOPCIFamily.kext" from 10.6.7!!!

but boot from USB Stick with Flag : -v npci=0x2000

And you will be able to boot into the installation screen of Lion 10.7

My Spec : Core i5 460m (Nehalem) @2.53GHz

GPU : nvidia Geforce GT330M 1 GB

Mald0n Thanks again for the wonderful guide and DSDT you made for me earlier -/\-

many thanks for the guide...finally got everything working 100%,i had a problem with facetime that was solved using the chameleon 755 boot file...i was wondering if you could tell me what edits i need to add to the ga-p55m-ud2 dsdt to add my network card so iam able to use any version of chameleon without breaking facetime

i tried ethernetbuiltin yes and it still showed in the networkprefs.plist as false...ended up adding it to my graphics efi string in boot.plist to get it showing as onboard, that fixed the app store problem...i would really like to combine graphics and ethernet in my dsdt just to make things handy for me in the future

here you go

The DSDT is missing some patches

dsdt.figgy.zip

Do not use DSDT from other computer, in many cases even if the mobo and BIOS version are the same, the amount of memory, number of used memory slots, etc. can cause problems. :)
