andrews69
I've got a GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 motherboard with an i5 2500k (turned off overclocking for the install) and an XFX 5770 (dual with 2 DVI, 1 HDMI and 1 DP) I created the USB drive per the instructions. I used Chameleon RC5 1096. When I boot off of it (F12 to display BIOS boot menu then select the USB thumb drive), I see the verbose tan screen with the OS X files then then white on black with the loading messages. It gets to "nstat_lookup_entry failed:2" two times and then switches to what I think should be the welcome install screen but my screen is almost all black with a pattern of white dots everywhere. I tried GraphicsEnabler=yes but that didn't do anything. Any idea what I'm missing here?

Squidderlee
@MaLd0n I stripped out all 3 keys and restarted... got 2 kps immediately on successive boots, Booted in verbose and got the system up... only to find (as I thought) no mac keyboard support.. restarted... Freeze... Restarted again and got the system up and on loading got another kp... Booted into snow and added back in the USB Fix only... rebooted lion in Verbose... keyboard and USB support back Put the system to sleep and crossed my fingers... Moved the mouse, tapped a few kes¡ys, shjook the keyboard Violently (joking).... but still the same result I cannot wake it black screens and no option than hold down the power button. The HD likewise did not shut off I have it set to never sleep on its own but if I choose to put it to sleep it should switch off with the monitors,,, but does not. All I have really learned from the exercise so far is that I probably don't need the EHCIacquire and UHCreset keys but in order to use keyboard webcam etc I must have the Fix in the boot plist
sirbow2
No edit to the existing DSDT and only USB.....??? Okay will do, Any idea why the cpu shut down and the fans keep running on shutdown???? I had this, i believe using RestartFix=Yes at boot fixed it.

andrews69
have you try GraphicsEnabler=No i think your gpu is not well configured GraphicsEnabler=yes and GraphicsEnabler=no both show the same - like the GUI is trying to start but the screen is mostly black with a small white semi-random checker pattern. Should I try to replace the ATI kexts in the base OS X image on the USB with the 10.6.7 ATI kexts or the fixed 10.6.8 ones floating around? Could this be fixed by putting my DSDT in /E or putting my current /E/E in the base OS X image on the USB (creating an /E/E folder)?
Squidderlee
use -v post a photo USBBusFix=Yes --> Enable all USB fixes -v is generally clean... that's part of the problem... most hangs are occurring without -v and when I reboot with -v all is well... Here is a screen photo from the earlier crash when I got it up and running... this appears on the second monitor... and I get this kind of thing from time to time even on snow... suspect its something to do with NV support Regarding RestartFix = Yes... I will assume that too can be added to the boot.plsit... what exactly is this fixing... does it support the wake from sleep issue I am having? PS. looking at this particular crash I can see it seems to be caused by paragon... what specifically is causing the issue I have no idea.. perhaps the driver is not loading properly... I had this, i believe using RestartFix=Yes at boot fixed it. Hi Sirbow... is this a once off or should the key be added to the boot.plist? any clue as to how to get my machine to wake from sleep... been bugging me for many months this one.... Hack has been pretty good in most departments aside...

Squidderlee
KP is paragon NTFSthis should not be compatible with the Lion It's working perfectly apart from this one crash... I can read/write just as I can on Snow... BTW OnyX was incompatible but I downloaded the latest beta from the site last night and it works well on the GM too... Squidderlee
the other problem is shutdown or restart? The Main issue I have been having is with ability to wake from sleep.... I still cannot after making these edits. I still get a black screen and no response to my mouse or keyboard. Do I need to include a version of SleepEnabler.kext - something that has never worked for my configuration? My mainboard is an Intel DP43TF not a Gigabyte for which (seemingly) this kext was written Since I first mentioned this problem a few days ago I have had a second issue. With this issue when I shut down Lion my cpu switches off but the fans are still running....??? Restart is fine.... A suggested fix for this problem is to add restartfix=yes at boot time.. But is this a once off or is it something I will have to do every time,,, in which case could it be added to the boot.plist??

I found code for the Intel boards in a reply to your post.. username slipttees. I can at least experiment with it and see what it does but again this only addresses shutdown issues... Squidderlee
.. Just noticed something... browsed to my extra folder and the DSDT was not there? Must not have added it at install I will use the system for a while before deciding to patch it to see if this particular problem still exists.... I would prefer to concentrate on the ability to wake the system when I put it to sleep if you can help with that one.... I thing I can get my shutdown and rebbot problem resolved with the informartion I have... It may have been simply that I did not have the DSDT installed... Just copied over my patched DSDT from Snow Leopard...

I am attaching it..just fyi I installed your DSDT and took out USB fix again... and shut down the machine. Just like before the cpu stops but the fans keep going... First attempt at reboot hung Second attempt it started but once again... as with earlier My Apple keybpard, web cam and flash drives etc would not work. The only way they will is if USBFix is present in the boot.plist. As before I had to boot into Snow Leo to add back in the USBFix...

Squidderlee
this works for mostyour case should be special RestartFix=Yes = default not need to add this Had a number of issues since replacing my dsdt with yours... Hanging at the bios screen... bot getting as far as boot... when it does I still get boot hangs. Twixe I got as far as the white screen just before I get in and get your computer needs to restart messages. I finally got in and sleep still sthe same... I cna seemingly put the monitors to sleep but the hd does not shut sleep.,, and I still cannot wake it. I replaced your amended dsdt with the recompilation of my own I made and sut down... the cpu shut off the fans kept running but they shut off too after about a minute... so perhaps this was not an issue to start with. Wonder though if Lion is putting greater demand on the CPU than snow...this is what I get back on Lion
