salve gente,

stò provando ad installare iatkos s3 v2 10.6.3 seguendo la guida in francese (purtroppo) che ho trovato nella hardware compatibility list per notebook al seguente indirizzo:

http://wackou.free.fr/upload/DellInspiron9...opard10.6.7.pdf

Hi,

I'm the author of the how-to, what is your problem ?

Could you explain more your problem and on wich line kernel panic ?

hello, I try to explain to you.

I think the kernel panic problems depended on rtc 64-bit, so now I have reinstalled with pc efi 10.6 + RTC 32-bit and everything seems ok.

mine is a Dell 9400 bios REV.10 jforce nvidia 7900 gs intel core 2 duo 7200 (4mb)

I ask help on 2 things:

1 - how do I let go of the 64-bit system? is the dsdt patch?

2 - if I install my upgrade to 10.6.7 goes into kernel panic....can you help?

thanks a lot for the help.

If you follow my guide exactly and don't check the 32bit boot option when installating, you should normally boot in 64bit mode (I didn't use 64 bit because I have a wifi dongle and the driver is only 32bit). But normally it should work, try to boot with -v and tell me what is the issue.

It's my first Hackintosh, I've heard about DSDT, but, I didn't know how its work, sorry = /

Did you use combo update to upgrade to 10.6.7 ? If you go with 10.6, you have to apply 10.6.1 then and 10.6.2 and 10.6.3 ... all in combo update (see my how-to). You don't have to use the software update integrated in OSX, download the combo update from apple website.

Hope it should help you.

Hello,

I followed your guide and I've installed all without the 32bit option.

Then he started a 64-bit but does not work ... the wheel goes round in circles and loops but does not start properly.

Perhaps my plate does not support 64-bit ... but I'd be sure and try to solve the problem. I do not have the Case Study of the wireless because I changed the card and recognizes it correctly.

You know how to fix it?

Could you also try to start a 64-bit?

Ok for the update ... I read your good guide and I realized that I do an update at a time. Before hand I did the update directly to 10.6.7 and it went into kernel panic.

Thanks for your help!

When you boot in 64bits, did you try to boot with -v in kernel flag ? Its the verbose mode and show you every module and kext loaded by the kernel.

You change the original by another right ? I think you have to see on this forum or check Google how to use it in 64bit mode.

I can't start in 64bit, because I have a wifi dongle F5D7050V3 and the driver is only 32bit, so I got Kernel Panic.

Why did you want to use 64bit ? I think its not so better than 32bit, only if you have > 4gbits of RAM.

Their another thing probably...

Ciao!

@Wackou: thank you VERY much, your guide is perfect and now I run the 10.6.7! Everything is ok (not the wi-fi, obviously), even @ 1900x1200! I didn't partitioned the HD, I have one for XP and one for OSX (I don't plan to use them at the same time...).

The only problem I got is with Ableton Live 8, on XP it's much more faster: a BIG project with more than 1000 loops (I play live electronic music) makes the CPU jump to over 60% (with slooow graphic), and with XP only to 15%... But probably it's a software problem.

I'll try a Xbench and post the results (can you do the same?)

Thank you again!

Remember that OSX on PC is only proof of concept (in my mind), so bad performance is possible.

In my experience, I use my laptop to type text with Office 2011, its run but with some lag.

I have a project with iMovie, and same thing run with lag.

So, I think that our laptop is old, and that OSX is optimized for Apple Laptop :)

What I have to download to post my benchmark ?
