It does help, I haven't had a chance to make the adjustments but I will make some. The preloader is something that will take some time because I will have to adjust all of my AS, I know I should have initially started with a preloader.

All good points, only thing I dont think I will do is bump up the whole page, solely for preference in design.

As for the email address in the source code, some help with this would be great, I have just started receiving some spam.

I'll be starting college for web design this spring and I've been meaning to ask something. I keep hearing all this bashing of flash and basically anything that's not HTML or CSS. Could you or anybody else, please show me some creative and interesting examples of sites coded without any of the things mentioned above? I'm asking out of genuine curiosity because lay people like me (ie. people that visit web sites) tend to like flash sites. The only people I've ever heard complaining about them are the web designers.

...

So again, could somebody please show this admittedly inexperienced guy some examples of html + CSS delivering rich media content with the same pizzazz as flash? I'd very much appreciate it.

Have you had a look here: http://csszengarden.com/

On the sidebarr of the above web site there are a series or links that take you to different style sheets. Some of the best css + html work out there.

Tis beautiful.....*sniffle*

The things that really get me are those darn ad games where you can't actually play the game....the moment you click it you get taken to the ad site..... then I have to go find a look a like game.... stupid curiosity.

I cant stand websites completely built in flash. im not too fond of javascript either....

oh yeah, and adverts, especally the annoying javascript ones that either hover when you mouseover a word, or the ones the taker over the browser window and force you to close them.

The biggest problem with flash sites is if you go too deep in to the site. If the flash site doesn't have a back button then you are screwed. I also like many people hate flash sites. Say you want to open a flash navigation in a new tab. I would just use my middle button with HTML Navigation but with flash navigation I HAVE to open it in the same tab which I really hate

Sites where music starts automatically - have a start/stop control and let the viewer play it if he/she wants. Dude did you think I might be surfing late at night and end up wakign half the house ? I always keep my headphones plugged just coz of this.

Sites with popup alerts (not ads alerts as in message box) that, well, popup the moment you visit.

Flash sites that don't give you a text version (unless there is real good reason.)

Too many ads.

Compatible only with IE (or any other browser).

Actually many ways exist to ruin a site. And many "designers" who use them.

Tables.

Tables based layouts really make me cross.

And HTML.

Who on earth uses HTML 4 anymore!! It's a mess, it really is.

Who was the idiot that decided <img src="etc"> is valid! There's no close to the tag!!!!!

IE only websites...

[OFFTOPIC] I know of a website (newspaper in my native language) that renders fonts using Bitstream Webfont player. Consequently, its "use Windows, or be doomed" website. The actual newspaper is on the other hand quite popular though.

So cananybdy suggest something so that I can use Safari to read this page...

So what do you use instead of tables to get your div items to the positioning you want them in?

In inkakinada home page www.inkakinada.com they are displaying sponsored classifieds are changing automatically. but same classifieds are displaying at a time more than once. i didn't like that. why don't they change them to unique...

in movies section http://www.inkakinada.com/movies they have used images taken from theater, why don't they used actual movie images. but in that i like the background color changes, when i mouse over the movie image or details. the color shade what they have used is very nice. and also showing the present status of the movie i.e playing in theater or not.

the logo for inkakinada.com is very nice and appreciate the designer who designed it.

I don't mind the features that you mentioned that much but I think that bad navigation is something that should be knocked out of a web page.

You can have certain creative freedom but I never do that at the expense of sacrificing ease of navigation and too many people forget that. I can navigate virtually any page with ease but here and there I find a page in which the navigation doesn't make sense and makes you search more than you should.

I have been browsing for more than ten years and I'm computer savy so I don't get into trouble with it but I've seen people sacrifice some basic stuff that can certaintly confuse the newbies.

A page with well organized and well done navigation should be very straighforward and intuitive to navigate and if it isn't the new computer users are going to be confused with it.

I've seen pages that were a joke in terms of organization and navigation. Big No-no. :D

When you have too many pop up ads it could mean that your computer is infected with some sort of adware so be careful. It is not normal for too many pop ups to appear. If this happens with too much frecuency maybe you should check you computer with another tool apart from the anti-virus that you have installed because anti-virus programs (even the best of them) some times miss one virus or malware of one kind of another. Maybe you should check your computer with one of those free on-line antivirus scanners such as:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

This is one of the few on-line scanners that I found that works in the Mac but you have to use Firefox for it to function. If you know of another one you could try that too. These type of antivirus programs usually remove found infections. If you try it and it works (if it does find and remove something from your Mac) maybe you should use it once in a while (perhaps every month or every two months) to prevent more infection problems. :P
