Azimutz
Again tried putting ati kexts into /Extra/KextStore... Hi mate... excuse me for the out of topic entry but... why use /Extra/KextStore? I assume you're creating a Extensions.mkext out of that folder, because Chameleon doesn't check it at all! If you're using Kext Wizard to install kexts, you don't need it anymore; check this post and you'll understand why. Stay safe...
Lordadmiral Drake
Yea, I'm using kextwizard I got the idea of trying this folder from the Collection of working solutions thread where someone stated that in his case the card only works properly when putting the kexts there
Azimutz
As i mentioned Chameleon doesn't look for that folder! The folder to put kexts in Extra must be named Extensions. There's not even a key to force the booter to load kexts from another folder so, i wonder how the kexts you want to use are being loaded from there??? That folder was just a solution for a human error, to force Chameleon to load E/E.mkext... i explain it on the post i pointed you. About kexts loading from E/E and not loading E/E.mkext, my experience (and i'm not alone on this) is exactly the opposite; most kexts that don't load from E/E, will happily load from E/E.mkext. That's all i can say Stay safe...

Lordadmiral Drake
I renamed the folder back to Extensions now Here's what all I've tried: LinearBurns Beta3: When booting with PciRoot=1 I get black screen on internal LVDS, though screen and card are properly recognized + QE/CI and Res-Change. VGA and HDMI working properly. I can VNC into the system from my Lion hackintosh and see what should actually be displayed on internal LVDS LinearBurns Beta4a1: System booting endlessly in normal and safe boot 10.6.7 kexts with modded Shrike personality in S/L/E: when booting with PciRoot=1 all outputs show garbled screen and system is unresponsive Same kexts in E/E: When booting with PciRoot=1 Card and Screen are recognized, but not totally correct as posted from SysProfiler yesterday
tim2000
i have 4 binary Shrike instance for each port in my Framebuffer, I have to patch all of them ? And why Peregrine have only 2 instance ? thanh hoang
I, I want to install Lion on My DV6 use Ati 4650M. I compile Source of Andyand change ati.c From { 0x9490, 0x00000000, CHIP_FAMILY_RV730, "ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series", kFlicker }, to { 0x9480, 0x00000000, CHIP_FAMILY_RV730, "ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series", kShrike }, But when I test on 10.6.7 I have Blackscreen. any help? Lordadmiral Drake
I mean that the maker and model of the card and the display are detected correctly. But the amount of vram is wrong and there is no QE/CI nor res-change On startup I noticed that it was missing IONDRVSupport.kext and IOGraphicsFamily.kext But when I put them into E/E too there is the same effect as with all kexts in S/L/E: Black screen backlit

Lordadmiral Drake
Now I'm back to where I started from: All kexts in S/L/E, ATI kexts from LinearBurns Beta3 with modded Shrike to fit my card. When booting with PciRoot=1 all displays (LVDS, VGA, HDMI) are detected correctly. Only that internal stays black with backlight on EDIT: About this LVDS dual-link stuff: A single LVDS link has a maximum pixel clock of 112MHz. My display (1600x900@60Hz) runs at a pixel clock of 97,762MHz according to powerstrip, so its well below the limit.

Rija
Sorry for the delay. This is display override file for your internal LCD. DisplayVendorID_4ca3.zip Please install it in:- /System/Library/Displays/Overrides/ If the internal LCD is recognized, the display override file will be loaded & you will see "Internal SEC LCD Monitor Forced EDID:" in System Profiler, at "Graphics/Displays", under "Displays:". Please test this display override file with Shrike framebuffer & these connection tables (test one by one):- --> 00000000 02 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 09 01 00 00 12 00 00 07 (LVDS) --> 00000010 10 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 10 01 01 (VGA) --> 00000020 00 08 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 10 01 02 02 (HDMI) --> 00000000 02 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 09 01 00 00 02 00 00 07 (LVDS) --> 00000010 10 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 10 01 01 (VGA) --> 00000020 00 08 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 10 01 02 02 (HDMI) Offset of Shrike connections table (3 connections):- 32bit: 0x00037298 64bit: 0x00010F80 Please let me know whether you can get internal LCD working or not with this. If the internal LCD still blank, you don't need to remove this display override file. You can leave it there, so you don't need to worry anymore whether EDID is properly recognized or not. Please post here IORegistry dump, preferably dump it using IORegistryExplorer app. If you can provide me System Profiler dump, that would be great too. Thank you for your time. Hi Kizwan, i've seen you can generate DisplayVendorID for internal LCD from EDID value for almura's dell studio 1747 . Can you get it for me too with my EDID ? fistofkhesahn
I was just checking in to see if there was some progress, but it seems us guys with 1600x900 resolution still have some way to go! I'm at the same place as you lordadmiral drake.. Tried all the same things as you, still everything recognized, and still black and backlit.. I'm getting to the point wehre I might reverse my desktop back to windows, untill i can get my laptop up and running fully functional with osx.. I do alot of music production, and many times I fix up mixes and ideas on the go (on my laptop) but it's such a hasle when I use logic on my desktop (which is such an awesome program) and cubase on my laptop :/ I'll keep trying things and check in once in a while, I wish all of you the best of luck :] and if you get any progress, I'd adore you to pieces if you'd pm me :] Thanks for all the hard work!
