audiodriverwriter
Recording works too now with the Delta44 in Audio Evolution 5. Audacity doesn't seem to record channel 1-2 on its own first two tracks. Recording 12 channels at once in Audacity results in track 3 to 6 to be recorded with the input from channel 1-2. Odd. audiodriverwriter
Ok, first beta release of the Envy24 driver. This may crash and burn! But it may also just work... The following sound cards are supported by this driver: M-Audio Delta 44 (verified) M-Audio Delta 66 M-Audio Delta 2496 M-Audio Delta 1010LT Terratec Phase 88 / EWS88MT / TS88PCI Note that the installer does not mention the 1010LT, but that can work as well. You can download this driver here. Make sure you download the Envy24 driver, not the Envy24HT driver for these cards! Let me know if this works for you. Again, cards that are NOT listed will NOT work, no need to try since the subvendor ID check will fail.
elovibe
Hey audiodriverwriter, finally there is a chance I will be running my old hoontech dsp 2000 again, you are a genius! Since I don't use windows anymore, I can't provide a subvendor ID for it, maybe somebody else can? Today I also found this: http://virtuavia.eu/shop/expresscard-34-to...box-p29858.html Maybe interesting for Notebook-users who - like me - found the magma-ones much too expensive (the one here is still not cheap though ...) You are in luck, I actually own a Hoontech DSP2000 C-Port! But remember, it's not only providing the subvendor ID, I actually have to support the specific codecs, write code depending on how they are connected by I2C to the GPIO's of the Envy etc. Every additional card means work. stmiller
Hi audiodriverwriter, thanks for all of your work! Is there any way to compile the Envy24 driver with 10.4 compatibility? Or is the source available for me to compile on 10.4.8? If not, I might look into getting 10.5 on my box.

Again, cards that are NOT listed will NOT work, no need to try since the subvendor ID check will fail. Hi, thank you for your work! I tested it on 10.5.4 with Audiophile 2496. My DAW (Reaper) show me 12 Inputs and 10 Outputs. Input recording works on channel 1 and channel 2, also on channel 11 and 12 (but here is the signal from both inputs). Output is not working. Later I will test it on my second computer. Here I have a Delta 66. edit: Now I have tested it with the Delta 66. Reaper shows the same, 12 Inputs and 10 Outputs. Inputs 1 - 4 recording works! Outputs 1 - 4 works! On Input 11 & 12 the same as on the 2496. All Inputs are on this channel. But that is not a problem. I can disable the channels 5 - 12. Reaper shows latency 3.5ms I have make you a donation. Now I can say goodbye to Windows...

chezalfredo
@audiodriverwriter I installed your second beta for my Juli@ (iDeneb 10.5.5). First, I can hear that samples are played two or three times. Usb are OK. When waking up and playing something, I get the famous "restart your computer". I'm not sure but I think it comes from the sound card. I have no log of this kernel panic. Is there someone else experiencing something similar? Thanks for your work. audiodriverwriter
Hi audiodriverwriter, thanks for all of your work! Is there any way to compile the Envy24 driver with 10.4 compatibility? Or is the source available for me to compile on 10.4.8? If not, I might look into getting 10.5 on my box. Hmm.. I thought it would work on 10.4 as well, but apparently not. Where do you get an error message, at installation or run-time? This is not an open-source project by the way. @axel99092 Thanks for your donation and testing! I have multiple reports of the output not working on the 2496. I'll try fixing it tonight. About the 10 outputs and 12 inputs: Because of the way the Core Audio driver system works, it's not easy to restrict the ins and outs that you see in the interface. The Envy24 chip can only stream audio in blocks using all 10 channels out and 12 channels in. That wouldn't be a problem in itself, weren't it the way that Core Audio deals with the mixer buffer and its 'erase head'. Well, too much details too explain. I'll look later if I can solve this. @arqui Don't cry, I said that the 1010LT was supported, not the 1010. I'll add support for the 1010 later. All these different models have different codecs etc., it can't just work magically! @audiodriverwriterI installed your second beta for my Juli@ (iDeneb 10.5.5). Did you have the first beta installed before installing the 2nd one? If that is the case, the 2nd one may just have installed incorrectly. Try removing it manually (kextunload it twice, then rm -rf the .kext) and re-install the 2nd beta again to see if that helps.
Hanx86
Thank you very much for your hard work, it's really appreciated! Just a quick question: is there any possibility in the future for also supporting the MIDI connectors of these cards with your driver?
audiodriverwriter
@Hanx86 Possibly. I don't know how that works in OSX drivers (Core MIDI?), but MIDI is relatively simple for these chips. I have MIDI working for these cards in my drivers on another operating system. I just need to know how to 'port' those to OSX. But well, lots of things to do! Aram Vartanian
Same to me! The strange thing is that it's playing on a slower tempo with QuikTime! But with other products like GarageBand it's all running fine! :censored2: Thanks!!!!

Where do you get an error message, at installation or run-time?This is not an open-source project by the way. On 10.4.8 with envy24 v.0.2.0 I get: a link/load error occured for kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/Envy24PCIAudioDriver.kext ("occurred" is spelled incorrectly (as above) in the error) The card is an audiophile 2496. So looks like 10.4 is a no go right now. I'm not sure if xcode in 10.5 even gives an option to compile for 10.4? I'll look into going to 10.5 sometime soon, so no prob. frag84
wow this is great! god bless I'm actuallay outta money and didn't buy another Soundcard!

No, you can't run the M-Audio panel 2. Ehm.. check the M-Audio site 3. Yes 4. You can record just fine, quality is great, it really doesn't depend on the driver (normally, lol!). 5. Always possible, but very unlikely.
