toxykdude
It is NTFS, but funny enough I could only see 2 of my 3 drives and it's on the 3rd that is invisible!I could try NTFS mounter, but I was planning to move my repositories anyway. Thanks for the hint though! it could be that last time you booted windows you didnt closed it properly, to fix that you have to boot into windows so windows OS opens that NTFS partition to be able to be acces it from other OS's
toxykdude
@audiodriverwriter seems to be the new driver wich is causing the distortion issue. I was having distortion listening anything through the card, I've deleted the kext from S/L/Extensions folder, reinstalled the 0.8.0 version of the driver and seems to be working good now. I'm right now on 10.5 so cant tell right now about 10.6. will keep posting
lediur
I seem to be having some problems using this driver with my 10.6 installation and a M-Audio Revolution 5.1 card. I installed it in both /Extra/Extensions and /S/L/E (using Kext Utility) and restarted. There is no "Envy24HT" option anywhere in the Sound Options dialog when OS X came back up. Only the four previous options (Realtek ALC889a) showed up, and those work fine. There is no mention of an Envy24HT in Sys Profiler. sudo kextunload shows that the kext was actually loaded by OS X, but kextutil reads this: LedMain:Extensions lediur$ sudo kextutil Envy24HTPCIAudioDriver.kext/ Envy24HTPCIAudioDriver.kext does not declare a kernel dependency; using com.apple.kernel.6.0. Warnings: Kext declares no kernel/KPI libraries; if it references any kernel symbols, it may fail to link. Envy24HTPCIAudioDriver.kext does not declare a kernel dependency; using com.apple.kernel.6.0. Envy24HTPCIAudioDriver.kext does not declare a kernel dependency; using com.apple.kernel.6.0. Is there any way to integrate this driver into a DSDT.aml? I believe that my onboard sound is taking preference over my Revolution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. audiodriverwriter
Hi all, I've updated the Envy24HT driver to fix the digital output issue. Link is here. Funny to see that already 12 people have downloaded it before I had a chance to post this message!
kludgedean
Probably RSS fed, and set to auto download upon an updated file? I still have this card but i'm not using it anymore. I'd just like to congratulate you however on writing a driver that works BETTER than Terratec's own under Vista/7, and also Linux still hates these cards... So much so that theres a current(?) going through it, and it used to trip out my amplifier :/ The drivers you've wrote, are flawless, and work better on OSX86/10.6.* Kudos! sergiy.gagarin
audiodriverwriter, would you recommend buying m-audio revolution 5.1 if I say I want cheapest card for good stereo listening preferably with headphones? As one could conclude from the table on the download page this one should be well supported. My question is does headphone out works without problem and have its own volume control with your drivers. If you have experience or being told about particular card of course.
audiodriverwriter
How that is possible? Interesting. I just tested again on my 10.5.2 and there it works fine. Sigh. Edit: I made a new installer package which tests the osx version differently. Please give it another try.

I think the Revo 5.1 is one of the best sound cards with mini-jacks you can get. Headphone out doesn't work unfortunately.
Ilia P.
Dear audiodriverwriter, first, thanks again for your terrific drivers! I have a M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 and it's working fine in Leopard. But I have recently upgraded to Snow Leopard (x32 version AMD kernel) and the volume control no longer works. Could you please fix it? I'll donate asap! ps you can write to my mail m@inside.msk.su and request some additional info if you need. THX!!! mogio
Installed the new driver... running 10.6.1 with esi JULIA -> after awaking from sleep mode when sound is played the systems freezes... Any Workaround for that?
sergiy.gagarin
thank you very much, audiodriverwriter, for the prompt answer for my question about Revo 5.1 and headphone out! I'm wondering if it even possible and what is needed to implement headphone out support for the card. After you answer and all the reviews I've read this look like a really good card. P.S. Next one that makes sense is starting at 150$ and it is ESI Maya44e I presume. But my PCIe is covered by 8800GTS(good one if you ask me) and price for it will make it priciest component in my hackintosh) BTW I will gladly translate your driver to russian and ukrainian if it is needed. The Maya44 (any model) won't work, so you can skip that option! The thing with the headphone on the Revo 5.1 is that it also doesn't work on ALSA (Linux), so there is little chance of me finding out how this works! I appreciate your language translation offer, but there is hardly any text involved in this driver, besides the "Envy24HT" text. Installed the new driver... running 10.6.1 with esi JULIA -> after awaking from sleep mode when sound is played the systems freezes... Any Workaround for that? Please have a look at post 777. I haven't tried it myself though, but you can give it a shot.

sergiy.gagarin
Audiodriverwriter, according to ESI site and some posts on the forum ESI Maya44e (PCIe) does work on Intel Macs (Hacks included) with driver from manufacturer. Not sure about 64 bit though. And Thank you for your driver!

Ok, this is what I did: I removed my driver from my SL 64-bit (sorry, can't try in 32-bit) installation. Made sure it was gone in Audio/MIDI setup (it was gone). Downloaded and installed Envy24 0.21 from my own website. Had to reboot since it didn't show up. After reboot, fired up Audacity and Audio/MIDI setup. Selected output in Audio/MIDI setup and 2 volume controls are there and fully working. So I'm afraid I can't fix it since it works here! Perhaps you were looking in the Sound prefs to control volume? Audiodriverwriter, according to ESI site and some posts on the forum ESI Maya44e (PCIe) does work on Intel Macs (Hacks included) with driver from manufacturer. Not sure about 64 bit though. And Thank you for your driver! Ah, if it's PCIe then no doubt they'll have a driver that works, since Intel Macs also have PCIe. Perhaps that's a good alternative then. pkv
@audiodriverwriter hello, thanks for your great work! any plan on supporting esi esp1010? i tried to install the driver under Snow Leopard in 32 bit mode. The driver does load (as seen from kextstat). In kernel.log I read: Warning - com.audio-evolution.driver.Envy24 declares no kernel dependencies; using com.apple.kernel.6.0. Generic Envy24 detected! This specific Envy24 card with subvendor id 31315441 is not really supported! Only digital out might work. Phase88 Initialized! Memory allocated OK! phys = 10c5000, virt = 5ccee000 Memory allocated OK! phys = 1105000, virt = 5ce10000 Error: no interrupt event source! Something failed in the engine! Any hint about what could be done? Edit: I have similar message for Delta44 (except I have the line: M-Audio Delta 44 detected! ) Thx.

Ilia P.
Hi again audiodriverwriter, i've done as you told (removed my 20 driver rebooted and reinstalled 21 driver). The volume control still doesn't work. What I mean is in the "Preferences" >> "Sound" I can adjust everything and everything works. But if I use my keyboard to control the sound level, it's stuck on the level that is set in the preferences.
alster
Hi, is there any chance for an ESI Pro 192XL? I tryed the newest driver and it said: "This specific Envy24HT card with subvendor id 31495345 is not supported!" Maybe you can add this id and I try it? The 192xl card is nearly the same as the juli card... Thank you!
