Dee S. 73
-Can I set my sound format at 48000 Hz?! I've try to, but it's always returns into 44100 Hz.-Why at this version of the driver I experience some kind of clipping at the output waveform - light distortions?! Working with Logic set to 24/96 with no problems..44,100 audio played through quicktime/itunes plays correctly also with a 24/96 project open in logic. No distortion here and resampling from the analog-in with a cableloop gives a clean wave.. not tried digi-out/digi-in. axel99092
Hi, Audiodriver! I have two questions about the Envy24 driver. I'm using v.16 of it. -Can I set my sound format at 48000 Hz?! I've try to, but it's always returns into 44100 Hz. Programs like Logic studio need to be at 48000 Hz... Hi, you can go to Audio-Midi-Setup and set it to 48000,0 Hz (Bild 3) or you can set Logic to 44100 in Logic - Project settings (Bild 2).
relikwie
Thanks guys, for the clarification. Sound is indeed working, only difference with my Linux installation is that the center doesn't output. Hopefully the controls will be added soonly up/down/mute on keyboard is a miss.. -relikwie
Dee S. 73
Volume up/down from keyb working here on 2496.. mute wont work ( like it didnt work on my Audiophile USB with originale M-Audio drivers btw) DS

Thanks! But I was there (Audio-Midi-setup) and when I set it up to 48000Hz it's automatically gets back at 44100Hz... I don't know why! It's not a big deal, but it's a strange thing to me... m3lvm
Thanks! Alright, showtime! If you have any of the above mentioned cards, please download the BETA Envy24HT driver at: http://www.audio-evolution.com/drivers/ Note, I don't have another OSX86 machine, so don't be surprised if this doesn't install or work. But I'd be glad to hear if it did! If you like my work, donations are always welcome at paypal AT audio-evolution.com! Thanks for the work you have done with the envy24ht driver.... on the M audio 5.1 I noticed that you have no control over the volume at present. Whilst trying to get the m audio driver to work I noticed a difference in the Info.plist to yours <key>IOPCIMatch</> <string>0x17241412</string> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOPCIDevice</string> M AUDIO'S <key>IOPCIMatch</> <string>0x36311412</string> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOPCIDevice</string> A freind of mine was under the impression that this was the reason the sound card was not being found by the M Audio drivers. But any alteration to this Kext package did not make any difference. The reason I wanted to get the M audio drivers to work I due to the controll panel There are so many things you can config with it. Goto http://www.eternalsound.co.uk/mac/ for a copy of the M Audio 5.1 mpkg if you have not extracted it. it might be of some use for future development
Dee S. 73
M-Audio drivers are PPC only !!!!!!! so there is no chance of getting them to work....!!! A freind of mine was under the impression that this was the reason the sound card was not being found by the M Audio drivers. Tell to your friend that its better he's gonna learn something bout PPC vs I386 differences instead of just talking nonsense Goto http://www.eternalsound.co.uk/mac/ for a copy of the M Audio 5.1 mpkg if you have not extracted it.it might be of some use for future development  Nothing of ANY use inside that package.... Please guys no more posts about "original M-Audio drivers".Its just a useless forum clogging. DS

These are drivers written from scratch. The M-Audio control panel will not work with it and this mpkg is completely useless as Dee S. says. I'll upload a new Envy24 driver this weekend with digital out support for the Delta 66 and I'll add support for the Revo 5.1 volume controls in the near future, but I've got too much going on right now. laneyanders
Keeping in mind that an OSX driver exists, it shouldn't really be all that difficult to simply modify it into x86. This is a wrong view - a driver need to be compiled for the target platform from the sourcecode. PPC and x86 has different instructions for the CPU. If there is no open code, it is not possible to modify the driver. The OSX86 drivers are mostly developed for FreeBSD (or Linux), so the sourcecode is open and can be modified. The driver model of Core Audio is completely different. Sure you will benefit if you have source code for the same card on another operating system (like I have with my drivers on AmigaOS), but it's still a lot of work to get it into the Core Audio framework. Envy24.0.17.0 is available now which adds digital out support for the Delta 66 (and only for this card, sorry!).
Roman_77
Check internet for m-audio drivers for PCI m-audio for MAC. Nothing! Except audiodriverwriter's version. It seems he is exceptional person! relikwie
Driver works perfectly here, but and unfortunatly, system freezes up within 15 minutes ater wake-up from sleep mode. As long as I do not sleep the system, all is well. Hopefully this is a easy fix (doubt it). Anyhow, audiodriverwriter, keep up the good work. -relikwie
audiodriverwriter
Ok, I found some time to work on the Revo 5.1 controls! The driver now supports its gain and output volume controls. As usual, the driver can be found here.

I installed the iDeneb version and are running 10.5.6 I have a M-audio revo. 7.1 Sound is working but the problem is that the sound is playing at a lower pitch than normal. Does any body know this problem? And is it possible to fix it? Edit: In VLC de pitch is OK but it plays with hickups. Thanks in advance for you reply! Jipse
Problem fixed thanks to Davy :censored2: Simple: Sample rate was wrong. Changed it from 48 to 44 Kh. (Changed with Audio/MIDI settings: programs/tools/)
audiodriverwriter
I've implemented output mute for the following cards of the Envy24HT driver: Phase 22, Revo 5.1, Revo 7.1 and ESI Juli@. I've only tested it with the Revo 5.1, so let me know if the others work as well! You can mute by the special key from your Mac keyboard or by Audio/MIDI setup's top output mute button. As usual, go here.

What do you mean exactly by 'the control panel won't work'? Does it show 'Envy24'? Does Audio/MIDI setup show Envy24 at all? Do you hear system beeps? Does Audacity etc. work? Note that there aren't any volume controls implemented for the Delta 66.

The delta 66 maudion control panel for mixing the inputs and such won't work. (i do have sound though through output channels 1 and 2 on the breakout box, but no way to select spdif). I found out that maudio apparently didn't release any intel based drivers for the delta series pci cards. Only firewire and usb. As such pro tools is completely useless on my hackintosh with this device. i guess I have to go back to using pro tools in windows

680i-osx
audiodriverwriter: Is it reasonable to say that a soundcard using the same controller/DAC combination of the supported cards list, will work too? For example, the Audiotrak Prodigy HD2 have the Envy24HT-S/AK4396 combination, so does the Audiotrak Prodigy HD2 Advance, and the first one is listed as a supported card by your driver. Is it possible that the "Advance" version is going to work too? They only have different OPAMPs and some capacitors... Thanks in advance and keep the great work! Is it possible that the "Advance" version is going to work too? They only have different OPAMPs and some capacitors... Thanks in advance and keep the great work! Simple answer is 'no'. The cards have a different subvendor ID. Depending on the ID, the cards get initialized. So I have to know which codec I have to initialize and which Envy24HT settings I have to set depending on the model. I can easily add the 'Advance' and let it pretend to be a non-Advance, but there is no guarantee it will work. We can try though! Note that the Prodigy HD2 is not that well supported since it has sample rate issues with my driver. Since I don't have such a card, I can't fix that easily.
