phile
Just a followup to my testing of the Envy24 driver for the M-Audio Delta 1010: 1) In both Audio/MIDI setup and in Logic Pro 8, there are 10 inputs listed(what you would expect) and 12 outputs... that is, 2 extra outputs that don't exist, the Delta 1010 having only 10 ins and outs(8 analog + Stereo SPDIF), not counting the MIDI in and out. 2) SPDIF(digital) in works(inputs 9&10) but SPDIF out does not. I can tell that the SPDIF out is not putting out a sync signal because none of my SPDIF input devices lock into it. 3) System crash if the sleep/hibernate function has been used at any time since the computer was first booted - the lockup/panic takes place if the Sound control panel is selected in System preferences or if Logic is launched(or probably any other program that is set up to use the Envy24 driver). This problem does not occur provided "Envy" is deselected for all inputs and outputs in the Audio/MIDI setup prior to using the Sleep function. For some reason the Envy driver is not being reengaged after Sleep. Other PCI/PCIe based cards(namely firewire cards) don't have this problem coming out of sleep. 4) Tried both the v.13 and the v.14 Envy24 driver - they both work the same in all respects as far as I can tell. Made this test with two different OS X installs - a clean retail 10.5.4 install with just Logic installed and a modified and heavily used/tested iAtkos/Kalyway 10.5.5 install - same results for both on my Intel 975XBX2 motherboard. I will try all of this on a Asus P5E system and a Gigabyte P45-UD3P one as well and report back, but I suspect that these results will probably be the same. Regardless, it's great to have the 8 analog ins and outs on the Delta 1010 working as well as the SPDIF input - the sleep problem is easy enough to avoid. audiodriverwriter
@frag84 About the 16000 Hz issue: I tried recording at 16000 Hz in Audio Evolution 5. Sound was played incorrect: sometimes is played faster, sometimes slower. I saw that Audio/MIDI setup had its default outputs to the other card I have installed. So I switched that and OSX started behaving bad. After reboot, I once again recorded in AE5 and all was ok at 16000 Hz. So it seems that OSX is doing some bad attempt at getting the timing from the other card's sample rate and applying it to the one that it is actually recording, if the default outputs are set to another card. Interesting. leeanimated
Interesting to hear that sp/dif output is expected not to work on the delta 1010. d34db33f
Hi. I've been searching around for a while and wanted to know if anyone in the thread has tried using the Onkyo SE-200 PCI with this driver. It's among the many sound cards based off of the Envy24HT chipset and I'd like to know if anyone has had any success with it. Thanks.
toxykdude
hI ... I just tried Tiger with Jas 10.4.8 // with a Audiophile 192 plugged in // and none of yours drivers works. would it be really hard to support Tiger OSX...? .// just wondering cuz Logic runs kind better on it thanks a lot for your support /// keep up the good work
audiodriverwriter
The Onkyo is not supported and will not be supported since it's a rarely used card, sorry. hI ... I might do the compiler changes for the Envy24 as well.

toxykdude
heyyy... ok I FOUND THE PROBLEM JUST AFTER A FORMAT !!! DAMM.... !! its the Melodyne PluggIN that its crashin the whole DAWs. // its an old version of the plugg that it doesnt work on leopard. so for those who are thinking in installing Melodyne 3.0.9 JUST DONT INSTALL IT !!! it crashes all DAWs. & for those who r kind of f***ed like me i found a solution in somewhere so here ==================== OK, I found a list on the Celemony website of all the files you need to remove: ---------------------- Delete the following files:- [cre8/studio] /Applications/Melodyne 3.x /Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/ReWire/MelodyneRewireDevice /Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/ReWire/ MelodyneRewireDevice.plugin /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/MelodyneBridge.vst /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/MelodyneBridge.component /Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins/MelodyneBridge.dpm /User/Library/Preferences/Melodyne Preferences /Library/Application Support/Celemony/Licenses/MelodyneStudioCre8.license Note: in case of older program versions (before 3.2) remove the license file: /User/Library/Preferences/Melodyne License [plugin] /Applications/Melodyne plugin and, depending of your choice during the original installation process:- RTAS: Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins/Melodyne plugin.dpm AU: Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Melodyne plugin.component VST: Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Melodyne plugin.vst ---------------------- I removed everything on this list and my DAWs restarted. ------------------------------------------- REALLY GLAD TO KNOW THAT IT WASNT ANYTHING RELATED TO THE DRIVER !! ;=P

Dee S. 73
I got a M-audio 2496 from a friend , installed it yesterday... Driver works well, really good low latency time , no crashes & no problems so far ( uptime of pc is 1 day, 6 hours). I usually use a M-audio Audiophile Usb but if the 2496 perform as well i'm gonna keep it instead (only reason i choose the usb was osX86 support "out of the box" ). Only thing i need now to "unplug the usb" is midi support..hope you wìll get there soon... Thanks for the good work.... DS
audiodriverwriter
@DS Thanks for testing and nice comments! I've recently looked into the MIDI issue. Unfortunately Apple only provides an example of a USB and serial MIDI driver. Documentation is ehm.. non-existing! It would probably make more sense to buy a cheap USB MIDI device for the time being since I would have to put a lot of hours into making a MIDI driver. On the Amiga it would take me about one or two hours or so, sigh...
antonioseg
Hi, your driver has really pushed me giving Hackintosh one more shot... I have a working revolution 5.1 thanks to you!! entropy11
Hey there audiodriverwriter... fantastic work! It worked great under Leopard for me. Unfortunately, I have a bit of a conundrum. My 9800pro apparently won't work decently under Leopard at all (no one has had any success at any rate, myself included). So, I had to downgrade to Tiger, where it runs just fine at a decent resolution. However, my Revolution 5.1 doesn't work now, and your drivers don't work under Tiger (like you said). Is there any suggestions/fixes/tricks you might know to enable it? If not, you have a +1 waiting for Tiger
Aram Vartanian
Hi, Audiodriver! I have two questions about the Envy24 driver. I'm using v.16 of it. -Can I set my sound format at 48000 Hz?! I've try to, but it's always returns into 44100 Hz. Programs like Logic studio need to be at 48000 Hz... And some games playing sound with lots of distortions for the same reason. -Why at this version of the driver I experience some kind of clipping at the output waveform - light distortions?! (at v.2 it was OK) Thanks! I hope it would be helpful information for you, to do a better driver! P.S. My sound card is Audiophile 2496 on Leopard 10.5.2. relikwie
Hi audiodriverwriter, first of all: thanks for donating some of your time and skills to the community I just came across this thread and realised I had a Terratec Aureon Space laying around, installed it along with your latest driver. But after a reboot it doesn't pick it up right. I get the audio slider fully open and locked.
