Hi audiodriverwriter

I've been having problems with my Revo 5.1 PCI with my D945GCLF2 motherboard and iAtkos 5i. Basically it doesn't pickup the card. I've just installed Envy24HT and now sound is working!!! Is that what the driver is designed for? If it is I owe you a million thanks and I'd like to help you continue to develop the drivers!

Thanks

Sam

when I type

kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/Envy24PCIAudioDriver.kext > /dev/null

kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/Envy24PCIAudioDriver.kext > /dev/null

rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/Envy24PCIAudioDriver.kext

into the terminal

it goes: permission denied; you must be root to unload kexts

so what to do? I'm logged in as admin

Oh, sorry, you have to put 'sudo ' in front of every command. I fixed it on my webpage, thanks for reporting.

I just found out, that rosettastone sets my audio optiones to 16000 HZ.

So how can I surpress that?

Hmm.. I don't know the program, perhaps you can look somewhere in its options? I'll try 16000 Hz in my own app when I have time.

Heh, it's pretty simple, if there is no driver for the card, then it can't work. So I made two drivers that work for a lot of cards that have an Envy24 or Envy24HT chip on them, including the Revo 5.1.

First of all a big thank to Audiodriverwriter for the hard work, my friend's 2496 got new life now..... :)

My question is simple : i can have a ST-Audio DSP2000 C-Port ( Hoontech DSP24 coupled with a external AKM AK4524 24bit/96kHz ADC/DAC 8I/8O) really cheap and i would like to know if that gonna work as i've seen in the thread that 2 users reported the DSP24 as working with latest releases of the envy24 driver....and i somehow seem to remember of you having a dsp2000 system .....

Thanks in advance for the answer and keep up the good work..

Look, I do this for fun ok? That means that I look at a problem whenever I feel like it, or when someone donates money specifically for a certain feature. And I do not understand why you would go to XP after getting a firewire sound card, since there are probably native drivers for Intel OSX.

Thanks!

I indeed have a Hoontech connected to my non-OSX PC. I doubt this thing is working fully with my drivers, basically because the AK4524 chips need to be setup and the leds above the input channels will not turn on by itself. Secondly, I am unlikely to connect the Hoontech to my OSX PC anytime soon, since I need it on the PC. So, hmm, better get some other card!

Well the driver is working great but I'm experiencing rather a major issue. My machine keeps freezing and coming up with the please restart your computer etc box. It's definitely something to do with the Revo because a buzzing noise comes out the speakers when the crash happens or as soon as sound is played. It doesn't happen everytime sound is played, just occasionally at any time. It's like the latency is dropping too low or something and it crashes the machine. Any ideas? Do you need anymore information? Is it fixable?

That's the first time someone reports something like that, so I can't think of anything wrong. Could you re-seat the card in the PCI slot or try another one?

Envy24.0.16.0 adds support for the Delta 410 including output volume controls. The codec does not have input gain controls, so there aren't any input controls in Audio/MIDI setup.

This version also changes the 32-bit indication in Audio/MIDI setup to 24-bit and adds a 16-bit format. Note that this doesn't affect quality whatsoever since samples arrive in 32-bit floating point and are always converted to 32/24-bit. The reason for the 16-bit format addition is that some people complained about certain apps requiring 16-bit output. Perhaps this helps.

Thank you for this, it helps a lot to make an Aggregate Device with 2496 and my Samson C01U Microphone. Now all is perfect.

Excuse me i don't want to offend, yes right to send money offer for hard work, i only ask if is it possible to develop in the future drivers for two cards or if it's impossible!

then i must buy a firewire to remain in hackintosh (i know exists the drivers for osx) not to go to xp !!!

i only return to windows if there isn't the possibility to develop drivers for the two delta 66 and if i resolve a confilct with my xp (freeze), also if i not capable to sell my two delta66.

If i sell my delta66 and i'll buy a firewire card i happy to stay in my Hackintosh with logic pro , that's all

thanks again to audiodriverwriter

I'm pretty sure it's possible if OSX can handle it, I just wouldn't know how at the moment. I'm not even sure it's a driver problem since it's not the driver that looks if there are suitable cards (set aside subvendor ID's), but it's IOkit that scans all (PCI) devices and based on the vendor and model ID, it finds a corresponding driver/kext and starts that driver.

I do have 2 2496's and 2 EWS88MT's at the moment, so I can possibly try, but I'll first search the web if OSX can handle this at all and if it needs some tweaks to do it.

Ok, last night I put 2 2496's in my system and spent 2,5 hours on trying to get them both to work. I added some debug output and see that the driver is called and returns successfully to IOKit. This means that both cards are up and running. But only one is showing up indeed, which makes me think that Core Audio is at fault, since they could have easily made this work. Actually, I think they needed to put work into it to get it not working (heh, if you know what I mean...).

I need to try one more thing tonight, but it's not looking good.

I also re-read the documentation and there was no mention of how to handle this situation.

Hats off to audiodriverwriter for the Envy24.0.14.0. driver that seems to work perfectly with a Delta 1010. I have used M-Audio Delta interfaces(1010,66/44 and the 2496 Audiophile) in XP-based audio workstations for years and have, up to now, regretted that no drivers have been available for Intel-based Macs. Firewire based audio hardware can be problematic, to say the least.

Tested all analog ins and outs(but not SPDIF yet) - all OK. Naturally like others on here, it would be great to have MIDI support for the Delta 1010, but having all of the analog ins and outs working(and most likely SPDIF too) is more than enough .

I tested the 1010 on a Bad Axe(XBX2) motherboard with 4 gB of RAM and a Q6600 processor overclocked to 3ghz. Tried it using Logic Pro 8 with both a Leopard 10.5.6 Chameleon retail install and an iAtkos/Kalyway mongrel 10.5.5 hacked up install with no problems in either. Will continue to check the Envy24 driver out on other installs and hardware platforms and report back. Thanks for this great work!

More props to the Envy24 driver writer - through a Revolution 7.1 in my Gigabyte box tonight and it works perfectly in OS X and Vista.

The onboard sound on my Gigabyte worked fine, but it was noisy and tinny (even in Vista) -- forget that.

thanks man!

Is the M-Audio Audiophile 192 (PCI) a good replacer for the ALC889A on a Gigabyte P35-DS4 ?

i like the evolution 7.1, picked one up for $60 off craigslist locally

You're in luck though with the 1010. It doesn't work for everybody.

S/PDIF on Envy24-based cards can not work automatically. There 's always one or two extra chips involved that need to be set up. I haven't set up any digital chip for the Envy24 cards.

For the Envy24HT-based cards, digital out will work since the digital output is integrated into the Envy24HT and is activated easily.

If everybody could enter their successfull testing of their cards and OSX versions on the OSX86 HCL page and have a pointer to my website, I'd appreciate it! I can't test every card myself on all different OSX versions.

Tried again, but it's not going to work. Multiple cards with the same chip will not be supported, sorry.

Multiple cards with different chips work fine though. I've got an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 and an M-Audio Delta 410 both happily chugging away in my Hackintosh. I'll probably take the Revo out eventually and use it elsewhere, since I don't really need two audio cards in my PC.

On Delta-66 S/PDIF works for me.
