Ok i'm going to scream in a moment.

 

Urgently need help.

 

I can't seem to get my USB stick booting to run the lion installation. following the instructions to the word and still not working.

 

The thing that's confusing me is that I erase my USB stick with the format "mac OS extended, journaled" yet, once i've restored the bass system onto the stick, it appears as mac os extended only. Is this normal and is it stopping me proceeding?

did you install chimera or chameleon on it? base system doesnt boot you need bootloader like chimera or chameleon to boot.. if you want to boot from Cham partition you have to edit com.appleBoot but installing bootloader on USB stick easier :) and dont forget to paste Extra folder and packages on it..

 

BTW i still need help about BCM4312,, NO-whitelisted bios and tried to rebrand it but failed,,, it writes BCM94312 HMG on it anyone knows something about this card????

So i'll guess nobody noticed my last post in here. What i was basicly asking last time, was if someone could fix me that DSDT file ? It seems that i have almost same specs in my computer, as user Peter sm here has, exept that my computer has i3 processor on it. So for that part i could use some help to get right kind of DSDT file for me.

 

Oh, also my wifi is diffrent, its Intel 802.11 a/b/g/n

Also i would like to know your opionion about this iATKOS. Is it any good ? What are its faults comparing to this Method ? There should come out new iATKOS L2 very soon. Worth chenking out ?

Our system is different the only thing i can see which is similar is the HP logo, so are you asking me (a N00B) to try and help or are you asking Taptun?

 

to be honest mate, all i am asking of Taptun is to patch my DSDT

its not like i asked him to fly out to Australia, fault find on my laptop, install 4 different OS's on an external drive, set up my home theatre system and then show him the sites of sydney (look he is more than welcome if he wants ;) )

 

I am not trying to be rude so please don't take this the wrong way but people like taptun and others on this forum don't get paid for the time they spend fixing problems that we have.

To me your problem might be a resolution issue?? (once again n00b)

you have to remember we are trying to install an OS on a system that wasn't meant to run it

You have a laptop similar with my laptop HP DV7 6090ef / i7 2630QM 2 GHz / AMD Radeon HD 6770M (1Go DDR5) & Intel HD3000/ 6 Go DDR3/ only différence is your card ati radeon hd 5650. You are sure similar is the HP logo only ?Pfffff :)

 

I never ask take fly for help me,just i post about 7 message without and i see only one message a menbre help already. ;)

You have a laptop similar with my laptop HP DV7 6090ef / i7 2630QM 2 GHz / AMD Radeon HD 6770M (1Go DDR5) & Intel HD3000/ 6 Go DDR3/ only différence is your card ati radeon hd 5650. You are sure similar is the HP logo only ?Pfffff :)

Mate I haven't even started trying to install it on this system yet!

i will contact you with what i did and so on, we can chat and laugh about the good old times

My system is a DV6 and an old series I7 720QM not sandy bridge.

 

Your screen size is 17" where mine is 15.6" now i don't know if that makes a difference?

 

Now this isn't the first time i posted something here you can go back and look at my posts

The other laptop i "tried" to convert over is a hp too (dv6-2005tx) and that was really hard (it almost made my wife divorce me) but I nearly read this whole forum from post 1 to get it going...

 

I will post back on the forum if it works on this laptop or not. If i encounter any issues like you are experiencing I will then try and work it out with you

For your video, your setup is very close to MacBookPro 6,2 (15 inch). Mine is MacBookPro 6,1 (17 inch). Check out this thread. My SMBios is MacBookPro 6,1, as is my FakeSMC. MBP 6,1 and 6,2 use nVidia GT320M. The nVidia chipset is the same for our GT230M video cards. With the info from the stated thread..... Open the AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext in S/L/E. (Show package contents)...Contents... Open info.plist (with a .plist editor). IOKitPersonalities.... AGPM..... find MacBookPro6,2.... Vendor10deDevice0a29 (nVidia GT320M). Change to Vendor10deDevice0a28 (nVidia230M). Save, repair permissions,reboot. It enabled native AGPM (with DSDT Injection for GT230M) on my DVx :wacko: Video performance greatly improved :)

Erm... I did modify the plist file but it still doesn't work. My SMBios is already set to 6,1. So how do I set the FakeSMC, and what do I have to change in my dsdt file?
