Hi everyone!

My DV7 works really well now but I have a little problem, i find my boot time very long: between 30-60 sec! (fresh install)

So how long are your boot times (dv7 3131-ez my chipset is pm55 with i5 430m, graphic card gt320m)

Hey every1, i'm newb to osx86(i was on leo like 2 years ago with my pc, but with destro it was really easy), so:

i have new hp dv7t(propably dv7-6053er) - would i be able to install SL on this machine? the thing is: i need 2630qm to work, also: i have 6770m+intel gpu's and would SL support both of them? + would turboboost work? Also: i have w7 already installed, anyway to install SL and make dualboot, not SL after that w7 and only then dualboot?

edited: i don't have usb, and i have q: if i'll make partition with 8gb free and put all retail iso stuff there - and boot from this partition will it work?

Mammoth!!! THANK YOU!!! I finally got a clean DV6-2190us which I can use Apple Updates just fine! The only issue is my keyboard tilde (the key to the left of 1--american US keyboard) is giving me §§§§§. Not sure why this is, but i can't use window cycling with command+tilde .

 

As far as using your method to install on other machines than sony and HP, I have the new Sandy Bridge desktop i just built. is it possible to use a custom MIID for core i7 2600k? I can replace the smbios.plist, a legacy kernel, extensions, but it won't boot. The MIIF i used to create the MIID boots this desktop, but reboots into cycle. Can you provide to me a pointer to what I can fix to make this work?

Hi to everyone ,

for some reason , after updating to the new Realtek;s Apple RTL8169 .kext , I lost my trackpad , and my audio, I was able to get audio back by reinstalling the ApleHDA.kext , but my trackpad and display brightness control are gone , I tried reinstalling the Better Touch Tool program , but it did not worked . I also reinstalled the voodo PS2control.kext , but same results

I need my display to be brighter , but i cant change it . all of these were working before the change .

 

Any help would be really appreciated

dual boot with win 7

was running 10.6.3 updated to 10.6.6

under installation EXTRA

now it just hangs after it all loads?

core i3 370m

 

8gig ram 500gig HDrive

 

partition the hard drive so that i got win 7 on one and os x on the other

 

followed all guides and now i can boot from Cham partition this is a great idea good on you

 

any way installed 10.6.3 then updated to 10.6.7 added back the kext from 10.6.3 and all work?

 

i have no dsdt as i do not know what to do with it yes i can get a clean dsdt file but editing it is

 

past me as i have a ATI 5470HD switchable intel HD and i think the only way is to do this with a

 

mod dsdt.aml and for the cores thats it for me this is a good laptop all works wi-fi works

 

as this is a big bonus so if any one can help me and i can help please post

alright, so I have a HP Pavilion DV6-3250us laptop

 

Integrated Intel HD Graphics

 

i5-480m processor

 

From what I know, these are the only important pieces of information when it comes to "will my computer be able to use the mammoth install"

 

So, would my laptop work with this install method? Also, as far as I know, there isn't a DSDT for my laptop is there? What wouldn't be functional without a DSDT?

One quick question, when the update comes for 10.6.8 will there be new a taptun kernel for chameleon because i wasnt thinking and installed the 10.6.8 developers release and now cant boot from chameleon, i have to use my mammoth cd. is there a way to fix this or will it be fixed once the actual update is released and someone makes a new boot kernel?

I dunno mate,

 

Now that Mammoth isn't here much anymore I'm close on given up on figuring this out.

 

I can't get anything to work with the ATI 5650 after installing the 10.6.7 combo update.

 

Just get a jumbled screen or when trying to install the ATI kexts and updating the boot file I get a kernel panic.

 

Not sure what to do.

We can't patch/recompile the kernel until Apple releases the code. Typically, Apple does not release the source until *after* the operating system version has been released to the public.

Hi Mmmoth, I'm from Spain an I have a HP Dv7 3160es with a i5 430m an Nvidia G105m, i would like test your istall system, but I have a MacBookPro DVD 10,6,6 install and with this is impossible Restore to USB , because 8gbusb is insuficient.

You must be explain in your first guide, that your guide is for 10,6,3 dvd or made for 16gb usb or 2 usb sticks...

 

Well, i made a USB with 10,6,3... do you need a testers with i5 430m?

 

I tried your MIID for i5, but I get a KP. I showed it to see if you can tell me why.

On loading, I saw that I read the CPU, SS tables and the DSDT mine.

The installation that I have now got to EmpiereEFI 10.6.0 dvd install adding the-v cpus = 1 busratio = 17 in Cham

In method to i5, i must use a dvd 10.6.0 install to restore in usb or i can use 10.6.3?
