You are now booting using chameleon and already have the ati package installed yes? (you installed the package before having to reinstall chameleon way way back at the begining of this conversation).

 

Try booting with the following boot flags GraphicsEnabler=y AtiConfig=Duckweed

to rebuild the extensions.mkext just double click kext utility if you have it installed and let it do a full service (ooh err).

 

If you can't get to your desktop try booting with -x

Just type it as as a kernal flag - at the bootloader select your drive then type GraphicsEnabler=y AtiConfig=Duckweed

or if you insist on putting it in the boot.plist (not a good idea until you know which framebuffer works) try this..

I got it working with Duckweed framebuffer, however it's not working intentional! While my screen is connected with DVI connecter there is nothing on my screen. Then here's the kicker: When i put my tv into the HDMI (While still connected in DVI with my computer screen) THERE comes the picture on my computer screen. however the resolution is 1280x768 or something. and whenever i plug out some of the cables it's disconnecting the other screen too!

 

If anyone can give me advices please do so!

As far as I know all the USB slots are from the same controller on this board except for the USB3.0 slots (which I haven't touched) so it's strange that of the "stacks of 2 USB slots", 2 of them caused hitching and 1 of them didn't and it's only since the new ATI card. Very very very weird - but it's working so that's all that matters I guess :(

Did you try different framebuffers as suggested in my original reply..

 

Have you tried manually selecting different framebuffers to see if any of the others produce a better result?.

It may help also if you can tell us what graphics card you are using, which version of os x you are on and what you have tried so far etc.

I think, there is a problem to initialize my LVDS.

Looks like you are going to have to customise the framebuffer - see this thread http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=255199 for assistance (it's not something I've ever done so I can't help you with that side of things - sorry).

Try this bootdisk http://www.mediafire.com/?bjf5a8gemiuc2p8 and just burn the image to a cd and then reboot from it, if you get as far as the chameleon bootloader then select your hard disk as usual and try booting.

You're the first person I've seen with such a problem with a 6850, don't worry though I'm sure it's a simple fix.

You are right. I tracked it down and made a post about it in this very forum before I made my comment here. I did this because I know that your -x boot ups are producing the same white screen so what I was trying to do, without saying anything, is to make you aware of the fact that they may be related.

 

And again. Welcome back Andy :stretcher:

 

Oh and my AMD Radeon 6950 should arrive today... confident that it will work soon.

Boot using the [url=&quot;http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/&quot;]#####[/url] cd again and use GraphicsEnabler=n -x -v as boot flags or try my cd with the same flags because if its taking ten minutes its obviously crashed or gone hideously wrong. Using -v will show you a text based boot screen with diagnostic messages so if any errors crop up tou will see them rather than a nice spinny wheel that could spin until the end of time.

i used GraphicsEnabler=n -x -v, as you suggested. can't remember if i also tried with just -x -v, but i'll do

 

edit: no result with -x -v, just a white flash and screens goes black/resolution error
