Hey Guys.

It seems that lion doesn't use all of my ram. I installed 3gb but in activity monitor it only shows two. I also put 4gb in but the same. System prefs says 4gb installed but activity only 2.

It also shows the wrong cpu. I have a core 2 quad 2,6ghz@3,4 ghz.

edit: it works if i disable the memory remap feature in bios. But then my bios only recognize 3gb : /

Care to upload it here as we have to register to download from there.

Here you are iBoot_1.3.zip

Did the older version of ##### fix your SMBIOS Patching?

Yes from #####-1.2.

First few times #####-1.2 booted very well (with AcpiPatcher.efi driver), now KP (no HPETs) on every boot, don't know what happend.

How to get a dat file? rename .hex in dat or what? Thanx so lot.

There was a strings.dat file there already (generated by #####) but it's only text (plain) file containing efi strings. I think you can rename your hex file to dat but first check it.

Try attached xpc boot files. I had (no HPET) errors with every boot files I found on the net. Those files are from some guy from projectosx forums. It works great and loads custom dsdt.aml files.

##### 1.4 stable works like a charm, copy fakesmc and nullcpupowermanagement to S/L/E to the base install drive, Installed Lion successfully and booted perfectly. No errors, no KP’s, perfect!

After install copy the fakesmc and nullcpu kext to installed drive then boot no probs.

If enabling the serial port (had it disabled because I don't use it!) fixes the ##### Issues, I'm gonna b sique...

Mobo is an ASUS (naturally) P5G41-M LX2/GB, CPU is Celeron DC E3400 (picked up Thursday), have a 2 GB thumbdrive config'd with ##### 1.3.

Enabling the serial port (either 3E8 or 2E8) let me get further, with ##### 1.3 - however, it promptly black-screened. ##### 1.4 was like the others - no soap.

If only XPC didn't drink all that haterade when it comes to ASUS mobos...

Okay...got ##### to b-have (even got XPC as a semi-workable alterative). Two nitpicks (applicable to both) -

1. Neither likes my USB keyboard (MS Wireless 6000) so I keep a PS/2 wired KB plugged in. Logitech V220, also wire-free, works fine, however. Both normally work with native SL, which is the weird part.

2. I have to enable my serial port (though I use it for nothing) for either program to work properly. 3E8 and 2E8 hex (normal COM3 or COM4, respectively) are where it should be set.

Resolution for ##### (which will *not* work to install or even boot Snow, for some odd reason) is 1400x1050 (taller than the typical install resolution for Snow using the nawcom OSx86 modCD or tonymac's ##### CD (I have the latest of each in an ongoing shootout); my setup for Snow is so generic that neither on-fly installer-helper has an edge over the other). So I'm going to re-create my modified installer partition (that I used to create the last two of my *three* Lion VMs in VMware WS 7) and export it to DVD (figured out how to do that - and I will detail it once it proves out).

Lion is up and roaring!

While I have to use a PS/2 keyboard to navigate around the USB stick GUI (because my Lion partition is at the far end), so far, everything else that worked in Snow (including the USB wireless keyboard and mouse) also works in Lion.

For some reason, Lion detects my E3400 at the wrong speed (in addition to as a C2D, which I don't mind much, as it actually is a cut-down C2D, specifically, a cut-down E8400 Wolfdale); however, it's showing 3.8 GHz, not 2.6 GHz (as the stick indicates).

Due to other issues (primarily with Snow, not Lion), I wonder if HDMI-audio works with *Lion*?

And yes, the reversed-scroll is *weird*.

Hi all.

I'm here to share my experience.

I followed the procedure to have Lion but when I try to boot it, it hangs on the message:

hfs: created HFBT on Macintosh

Cursos keeps blinking, HDD light works (external HDD) but nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

bb.

Reformat USB drive, use format utility, plug in and out then click setup ##### then copy ##### 1.4 files and overwrite older files on usb then reboot and try. Make sure your USB is formatted as MSDOS FAT32 and not GUID FAT32! Filesystem format makes a huge difference, GUID FAT32 will not work. MSDOS FAT32 will work.

Hey everyone, I Tried the installation process on my HP Pavilion dv6-2170ee and all goes fine but the only problem is that my USB Keyboard & mouse are not working.

I think It's a DSDT problem although i fixed the USB part on the DSDT and it's works great with SL

So can anyone take a look on my DSDT, any help will be appreciated

The full Spec are on the signature

Thanks

I can't seem to get it working, I've followed the steps exactly, after booting from the ##### USB what am I supposed to do? I have OSX Lion on an external drive instead of a USB, since I didn't have a spare..

I've also tried the ##### by tonymacx86 but I get a ACPIPlatform kernel panic.. anyone know how to fix this?

Appreciate your help :]

Doesn't work, only a cursor on black screen. Any XPC version didn't work for me.

EDIT: Got XPC 0.82.33 working and loading Lion! XPC 0.82.50 doesn't boot Lion DP1 for me

Format USB with "iBOOT_SetupToolBeta.2.exe" from http://osx86.co/f36/new-duet-based-efi-bootloader-t6383/, delete all files from it and copy the contents of my zip file to the formated USB drive. Put your dsdt.aml to "efi\xpc\" and boot your computer from this USB drive.

I'm not seeing what the screenshots are showing, and when I click continue it says Boot Failed, I'm using an external drive with OSX Lion..

Am I supposed to see that screen? I used the ##### Windows Setup Tool..

yamcha

use a pen to boot directly connected to the motherboard, I had the same problem and I solved the case. Do not use a port replicator. (example HUB)

Thanks for your reply, I tried using the USB ports in the back of my system, but seems to be the same problem, maybe it has to do with the external Hard Drive? I've got that connected on the back aswell..

One of my big problems when using ##### is the Jmicron Controller. If it is enabled on BIOS the ##### hangs as described in this post by a lot of people, just a cursor on the screeen.

If it's disabled, iboots works fine.

Also you should check if there is a PM disk. ##### takes ages to boot if there isn't a PM disk.

Hi all,

This part of the tutorial, impossible for me to succeed.

14. Go back to “Terminal.app” and type the following (drag and drop FakeSMC.kext from the folder):

sudo su

[enter your password]

chown –R 0:0 FakeSMC.kext

chmod –R 755 FakeSMC.kext

mac-pro:~ ...$ /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install/System/Library/Extensions/FakeSMC.kext
-bash: /Volumes/Mac OS X Install/System/Library/Extensions/FakeSMC.kext: is a directory
mac-pro:~ ...$ sudo su
sh-3.2# chown – R 0:0 FakeSMC.kext
chown: –: Invalid argument
sh-3.2# chmod –R 755 FakeSMC.kext
chmod: Invalid file mode: –R

You have a solution, please ?

Thanks advance.

Thanks for your help, unfortunately it still doesn't work, maybe it has to do with my motherboard, I have no idea.. I guess I'm going to have to wait till Tonymacx86 comes up with something..

Are you running Terminal from the installation setup? If so, "sudo su" is not a command, and is not needed. Sorry if I did not make it clear, maybe I will try to update the guide in a while, but I'm so busy these days.

Make sure you are typing:

chown -R 0:0 FakeSMC.kext

(notice that there is NO space infront of the R)

and

chmod -R 755 FakeSMC.kext

(also, be sure that you change the directory to system > library > extensions, or drag the file if you are in SL.
