Princess_Bubblegum
What file system is the USB stick? I'm not sure if it's just me, but if I boot in safe mode with -x, I lose the ability to open FAT32 disks.

The Stick has FAT32 format. when im booting normal mode, the franklin kext for my ATI 2900 XT Graphics is not loading.
Princess_Bubblegum
Can it mount Apple HFS formatted memory sticks? I'd be sure to back up whatever you have on that stick in windows if you can.

Princess_Bubblegum
I'm not quite sure what you mean, but it sounds like you got the stick to at least mount. I had some difficulty moving files between my systems before. There's a windows program called Mac Drive that lets your windows computer read and write an Apple HFS drive. They have a free trial version of it if you only need it for a short while, to load drivers/files/other stuff onto in windows, then copy it to your mac. I'm not sure what's up with safe mode not allowing FAT32 disks, one of my very makeshift installs only likes to load in safe mode, so it makes file transfers annoying. mulcyber
i have startet now in normal mode and my stick ist mounted :-) with a another graphics card. What must i do to load my ATI Driver in normal mode and not only in Safe Mode ? Safe mode means it doesn't load all the kexts (drivers). So I think that your other graphics card works for mounting an "other" filesystem because a kext for that is loaded in normal mode that is not loaded in safe mode. To test this, load your other video card, that works for usb in normal mode, boot it in safe mode instead. Now if in safe mode your system is unable to mount the filesystem and read the contents, then to solve the problem you need to be able to load your ATI 2900 XT in normal mode. Then mounting your usb stick will work just like with your other graphics card that works in normal mode. I expect that you do need to get the kext working for your AT 2900 XT so that you can start SL in normal mode so that all the other drivers are loaded. I can read a USB portable drive that is formatted in NTFS because Mac comes with an NTFS-3g kext by default. That means you need to properly get your ATI 2900 XT graphics card installed. This is an old card. http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.1 "Radeon HD2900XT Sapphire Works with the Natit2900.kext and ATY_Franklin.kext from 9A527. Patch here" The problem is that the links to the patch and kexts is old enough that it is a dead link. Remember to repair permissions and rebuild the cache after installing a kext. After 10 posts you can ask for help in this forum's Hardware/Graphics section. Here is a hard to find Howto, Good luck. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...php/t94090.html Supported Radeon HD cards Radeon HD 2900 Pro, Radeon HD 2900 XT
