Yes, but the Win OpenGL ATI drivers are not good / buggy (above 2.0)! Nvidia has much better ones (Win).

In OS X there is not so much diff between them.

So Apple will not use them until they got better. Also no real problem that OS X didnt have 3.0 because no game / app would use it

without major code changes in their code. VALVE may be one of the only whoch would like them to have more faster.

Other game factorys are happy with the OpenGL features as they are.

So its not an real problem for us. And Apple saves much trouble ( support) if they put OpenGL drivers later to higher OpenGL versions.

Same for OpenCL - Apple is behind Win (but not so far behind as with OpenGL).

If you installed XPC/[url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] and get the BError, or you don't know how to install [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]/XPC, here's a short tutorial.

 

NOTE: The USB flash drive on which you install [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]/XPC will be used just to boot and NOT install Lion on it !

 

To install [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] (this works for XPC too, you just have to copy the files from XPC instead of [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]) here's what you need to do :

 

1. Partition your USB flash drive to MBR and 1 partition MS-DOS (FAT) using Disk Utility

 

2. Download the XPC Boot Prepare Tool from here (http://cl.ly/240u3i0O0k3F33053M46)

 

3. Run the tool and select as destination your USB flash drive (if you select something else you will lose data as it reformats the destination !!!)

Note: After the tool is done eject and replug the flash drive. It should have now the name EFI FAT32

 

4. After the tool is done you need to download the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] files from here (or somewhere else) :

5. Copy the files from the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] archive to the root of your USB flash drive

 

6. Copy your DSDT.aml on the USB flash drive in /efi/acpi/oem/

 

That's it ! You are ready to boot 10.7 using [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]. Hope it helped :blink:

 

 

 

 

hii i downloaded the xpc bootloader but first time by mistake i install it in the main partition where my mac os is already installed.now at booting i am not able to boot and one blank screen is coming with a msg" MBR disk" plz help me how to do it,,,, or else i ll loose my data

Just wanted to let you guys know that upgrading from DP4 to GM works well.

 

Asus P5Q

Q6600

nVidia FX 1700

4gig DDR2

 

The challenging part is upgrading from 10.6.8 to 10.7 GM. Just need to back stuff and and will post back on a couple of days.

ok. got the itch. updated 10.6.8 to GM. of course it came with a few headaches like conflicting drivers and reinstalled GM 2x to get it working. Complained about no java but i dont really care unless i need it.

 

tis all gewd!!

you need to go on /Utilities/java preferences and then active it ! ;)

yeps. actually CS5 complained about the java and it downloaded it for me. thanks for pointing out how to enable.

Hi all,

I have to create (XPC) problems around a USB stick (4GB).

Someone can provide an image (dmg), with which one can start Lion.

I will change after on this image with my kext and dstdt.

Hmm .. I try to instal the software for my mouse - Logitech v220, but I receive the following notification:

This it the first app I met, runnig in SL, that dont want to run in Lion .. -_-

 

I have the same mouse, but don't use its software - not in Lion, now in Snow, not even in Windows 7.

 

For Windows, I use *Microsoft's* driver software (IntelliPoint 8.2 in particular), while the other OSes use the default driver software (which picks up the mouse just fine). Unless the Logitech software adds features over and above the default software (which wasn't the case in Windows; oddly enough, IntelliPoint included features that SetPoint lacked), consider Microsoft software for your Logitech mouse.

I patched the kernels for Atom (DP1 32+64bit cpus work, DP2 to DP4 64bit cpus work) and also added a little APIC fix (needed for some computers like the HP Mini...).

hi, i have a asus p5b premium vista, and i have can not get my 1998b to work using dadt patching / patched apple hda and a Patched Fakesmc in lion (in snow leopard 1998bfix.kext also did not work), i specifically want optical dts pass through,

 

Currently, i am using hdef patch and method dtgp (im not sure what this has to do with sound, but it was in a a post i found to do with 1998b) in my dsdt along with a patched apple hda, and a patched Fakesmc, but no matter what i do, I get no sound.

The only way I have been able to get sound is using VooddoHDA, which is not perfect, I can only achieve stereo from my optical, which means no ac3/dts pass through, and I also get KP sometimes.

 

also i see the config data seems to be different from your previously attached files, so im a bit confused on that front....if you could help me this would be much appreciated, as this is the last thing i need to make my hackintosh 100 percent, and its been irritating me for years now :{

can it have links to the chameleon that it works with ? chameleon 2.0 rc5 revxxx would be nice to use as its later or newer than rc4 and i think supports more or whatever im new at this so dont quote me on it LOL..

use the SEARCH function it's all there, just takes some reading. You can even find PKG's which are all there too. This thread should be closed or locked as DP is far gone :)
