nosbourg
There is, I just wish I could re-create it. GTX580 here and after hours of trying I did ONCE get past it and onto the installer page, only to hit an ACPI Platform error...... My latest cunning plan ™ revolves around imaging a VM drive from a working Lion VM install and restoring it over my OSX dev partition and then applying any fixes to get it functional again..... As to the one time past that message......I believe it was while using ##### 1.5a, although I have had numerous unsuccessful attempts since with it and 1.4, a whole bunch of versions of XPC and several attempts with netkas' EFI/chameleon solution.......all stop at that same darn message..... Starting to get all these USB drives muddled up.... Have you tried installing with the 8800 and then swapping the cards? Hi Shaithis, well since lion succesfull installation, now i cant boot it again because i get Kernel panic with the hpe(hyperthread) error , im trying to boot with other bootloaders, like you say about to change the graphics cards was my first idea , install with 8800 gt and swap the 560gtx after install ,ill try to boot and if ive got success ill comment , thanks for your comment

stefano.85
Finally i've succesfully install dp2 on my asus p5q and XPC 0.82.33.... The problem that i had since the first time that i've tried installing was on the boot screen of either xpc and #####, simply my microsoft digital media keyboard 3000 connected on one of rear USB ports doesn't work (on chameleon and SL works fine). i can't choose drives to boot or anything else. So i've tried with my GF's original mac alu keyboard USB and works perfectly. Also with a logitech k340 wireless usb it works!!! A part from this... all is working flawlessy until now with proper dsdt (with c-state edit), patched applehda, ethernet kext and gfx 9800 efi string in xpc boot config. Lion overall performance is much higher that in snow (geek bench 8300 vs 8200 points).... unfortunately i can't say the same about graphics performance... with opengl extensions viewer i've noticed the half points of what i do in SL. Sorry for bad english! cheers

bcc9
No (I mean about overclocking), it´s a general configuration, I think that what it really afects, in my case, to make ##### to work are usb and serial port (and the dvd drive). About the multiplier there is a known issue that with default multiplier the system reboots.I wonder why those config changes don't work at all for my system then. You didn't have to configure any kernel boot arguments such as pcirootuid, busratio? Are netkas's/anval's lion versions of /boot able to boot the lion installer as well?
ludacrisvp
@crazyelf - nope I was never able to get past that using any form of xpc or #####. I was able to install andyvad's boot loader that will boot from internal drives but all I get is an error about being unable to scan kexts instant panic at boot. I haven't had any help from there and not a lot of time to dig deeply into it.

Is there any useful documentation about the options to configure XPC (like smbios.plist or com.apple.boot.plist in Chameleon). Is there an official website or a community about XPC? I successfully installed DP2 using XPC but it would be great using the full potential of that bootloader.

domino
If you want to get rid of the "cpu unknown" in SP, you need CPUInjector.kextWorks great here. Thanks for the tip. edited the plist and cpu type shows correctly. Now to make Chameleon boot correctly rather than having a usb flash drive sticking out of my PC every time i need to boot into Lion.
