That BaseSystem partitition can be on your hard drive, a USB drive or a flash drive - just some partition different from where you plan to finally install Lion. FuManchu84
I think this won't help me. My system runs Lion, but the boot takes some retries using Chamaleon and its DF problem.I´m trying to make things easier using XPC as the "official" boot for Lion. I have a Realtek 8111B chip. I fixed the ethernet issues by installing RealtekR1000SL.kext and running KextUtility for Lion (both available on Kexts.com).
The Edge3000
Finally got XPC to boot Lion installer on my GA-P67A-UD3-B3.. had to disable USB 3.0 in the BIOS. (Verbose mode even shows the kernel recognizing Sandy Bridge Turbo Boost!) Only problem is no USB devices are detected, so all I can do is stare at the language selection screen. Tried messing with varios BIOS configs of the USBs; no luck. Tried renaming USB devices to mac friendly names in the DSDT; no luck. Tried using IOUSBFamily.kext from Snow Leopard; no luck. USB has always worked natively in Leopard/Snow. The only thing I can think of is that XPC is somehow setting up the IO Tree of the USB devices incorrectly, yet I don't know how to go about configuring XPC properly.. the settings.plist lists a long device properties string but I don't know what this is for. Hi Edge3000 the only thing you did, was the USB 3.0 disable? The Edge3000
Yes, the only thing I disabled was USB 3.0. The rest of the bios I tried to set as hackintosh friendly as possible (ACHI mode, 64-bit HPET, ect) I know that in Snow Leopard I have to set the CPU multiplier to x29.. don't know if this is also the case for Lion. I do know from the verbose readout that AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement loaded and recognized turbo boost. For those using the B3 version, a new BIOS update was released that apparently fixes the reset button. (I've had to reset the CMOS countless times simply because the system hangs! Although I did find that powering off the PSU for a few seconds prevented this) (Also, for those using Windows 7- I hear the 0+2 method works well )

The Edge3000
Can somebody explain to me how to install xpc? Here But seriously, you can get the latest XPC here: http://irc.netsplit.de/channels/details.ph...p;net=MoofSpeak And just make sure you format to FAT32 with MBR before running the XPC boot prepare tool. bcc9
Finally got XPC to boot Lion installer on my GA-P67A-UD3-B3.. had to disable USB 3.0 in the BIOS. Thanks, that was a good hint. Without that my ga-h67ma-ud2h-b3 would just stay at black screen (no cursor). I also had to add a video card; XPC and ##### seem to be unable to use the on-chip video with my sandy bridge system (again black screen, no cursor). (Verbose mode even shows the kernel recognizing Sandy Bridge Turbo Boost!)I don't get that far; I get:Loading kernel cache file ... root device uuid is ... and then the system reboots a fraction of a second later. This with xpc 0.82.29 As for the anval & netkas boot files, those result in the system rebooting at the point where they should be starting mach_kernel. So none of these EFI bootloaders seem to work with the h67 chipset.

The Edge3000
after I select the "base system"to go install screen, it "reboot" ,after some verbose "loading drivers".. Try setting busratio down to 29. I don't know why I can't set my base multiplier higher than that even in Snow Leopard running sandy bridge macbookpro kernel. Apparently turbo boost is the way to go as far as overclocking right now. Turboboost was set at 43/42/41/40 when I managed to boot and got the verbose output in Lion saying that the kernel recognized my turboboost settings. No such message in SL and I doubt if turbo boost is even working. MSR tools never has worked for me. But until I can get my USB ports recognized by Lion I'm kind of at a wall =/. To everyone: Do you think this is simply a DSDT issue? Or does the problem lie with the way XPC is configuring the ports?
