Dellmantt
right on.... rats.... lol... has anyone been able to use it on a internal drive with multiple partitions? i have everything i need but im hesitant... The trick for me is to use a separate HD with single partition. Have not been able to get lion to boot from an internal HD with multiple partitions. newnekton1
Any special instructions for putting XPC bootloader on USB stick? For example, can the Extra folder containing Extensions containing fakesmc.kext be on the USB stick too or does it have to be in S/L/E of the internal hard disk. No. What I mean is that I have been able to boot 10.7 from a Internal drive (single Partition) using XPC UEfi-Bootloader 0.82.17 on a usb stick. Previously I have could only run Lion on an external USB drive. Have had no luck with Chameleon RC3 or RC5 and netkas boot file though.

rlf
Problem with VoodooPS2. All special kexts are in /S/L/E. 1. Using ##### (##### 1.5a most recently), I can manage to boot Lion about 1 out of 12 times, give or take. Each time, VoodooPS2 loads and operates and my keyboard functions. 2 Using XPC (0.82.22 most recently), I can boot Lion every time but VoodooPS2 does not load and my keyboard does not function. 3. I have an internal hard drive with 2 partitions, both with Lion. I can boot either one using XPC (every time) and ##### (when it feels like it). daavvis
ok cool so i can run it on a partitioned internal hd, but my question is what about ##### makes it work sometimes? what do the kp's look like? i use ##### to install but and it works really well with my machine, so it would be great if we could get it to function everytime.... and from what ive read and understand in order to get voodoops2 to work right you have to manually load it... im not positive tho... believe i read something about it in the first few pages of this topic... There is no KP. For me it just hangs looking for the root device. I have since been successful 100% of the time if I first delete the kernelcache. The problem is that I must boot into something bootable, delete the kernelcache from Lion, reboot into Lion. When I quit Lion, the kernelcache gets rebuilt and I have to boot something bootable, delete the kernelcache from Lion, etc, etc. and from what ive read and understand in order to get voodoops2 to work right you have to manually load it... im not positive tho... believe i read something about it in the first few pages of this topic... In order to load the VoodooPS2, I need a working keyboard. So that means I need to find a USB keyboard so I can type the command to load VoodooPS2 so that I can then use my PS2 keyboard. My point is that if Chameleon can handle VoodooPS2 and ##### can handle VoodooPS2, why can't XPC? Oh, and the modified chameleon always double KP's for me so that is not a solution. I would have thought that there would be another attempt at chameleon published by someone. PGHammer
right on.... rats.... lol... has anyone been able to use it on a internal drive with multiple partitions? i have everything i need but im hesitant... My Hack drive (Maxtor 200 GB SATA-150 internal drive - it started life as my Windows XP, and later Vista and 7, main drive) is split between Snow and Lion - however, I use ##### from iPhoneTom, not XPC, on my USB stick. The only reason why it wouldn't work with your internal drive is that Lion doesn't support the controller, which, unfortunately, is the case with JMicron controllers. I have Windows 7 on a newer and far larger main drive in the same computer - a 500 GB WD Caviar EcoGreen that I bought specifically for that purpose. The new ##### 1.5a works as well XPC 0.82.22, in which once successfully booted using one laoder, the other loader on the next boot will boot. This was not the case before with ##### 1.4a, and 1.5. Anyway, since both support better x64 boot arguments, I tried putting in boot flag "Kernel Cache", Lion boots happily and quickly with either loader. Maybe it was just me,...but I have not changed any parameters. SO far XPC 0.82.25 is still a no go for me. Well, they both seem to try to leap frog one another after each successful release. Note: In #####, no matter what I key in on smbios setup page, system profile still shows the same spec, in my case, the true maker and BIOS of the board–Biostar Tpwoer I45. But with XPC, profile reflects whatever you key in, as long as it is a valid Mac smbios.plist (such as iMac8,1, MacPro, etc.)

The Edge3000
Here's a modified OSInstall.mpkg for Developer Preview 2 Instructions for decompiling the mpkg for those who are curious: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=181287 This is untested, as I can't get either XPC or ##### to work with my GA-P67A-UD3-B3 Sandy Bridge system even though Lion kernel apparently works for the new architecture (MBR Start!, then black screen). (EDIT: Disable USB 3.0 in the BIOS to get past this!) Those who did get a working Sandy Bridge install- Did you have to set the multiplier to 29 like in Snow Leopard? EDIT: New version should work now EDIT2: Multiple reports of MBR install failing using these, there must be some other check the installer uses in addition to the mpkg. These WILL work for getting past the other checks (e.g. board serial, ect) but the newer versions of netkas' chameleon and XPC/##### inject the correct values anyways.
