Andy, your using Chameleon, right?, and do you have Lion booted into the gui on your netbook? Thanks. Hangs here for me: Could this be, because I'm using a sata harddrive to install? jmacie
Andy, I tried cloning my desktop lion install onto an external, replacing with your atom kernel, and kernelcache, added chameleonrc3 w/netkas' boot, your boot modifiers ,no go, so, I guess you'll have to give us netbookers a little more install info, thanks

blackosx
but XPC shows 6GB instead of 4GB in ATM. Same for me. BTW. There is a newer version of XPC 0.82.3 available now: http://www.mediafire.com/?qtxircenvt9nx99 Though I'm not sure of what's changed since 0.82.2 @blackosxwe can always set how many memory banks needed by editing /EFI/XPC/settings.plist, right? Hi farhanito I can't see any difference to the results when editing the memory modules in settings.plist. So as far as I know, it doesn't work. C.Frio
Hi guys... I'm trying to install Lion on a GA-P67m-UD3 with an I5 2400SB.. I used all the processes and versions of XPC and ##### and i can't finish the boot, only with "hackinstaller"(http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=185097) I could see the options,to install the "base system" and then the verbose mode go on and then it reboots ,with others only the initial boot "MBRStart" and then the screen stay black without the cursor... are there any new method, or where is my mistake... where shall I pu the fakescm and DSDT.aml at new XPC 0.82.3 ? sorry my english c.frio
TH3L4UGH1NGM4N
Am I the only one that feels that the bluetooth is quite "iffy" because it would pick up my trackpad and magic mouse fine but when I bring my keyboard into the pairing fiasco everything on BT seems to just drop connection and won't work till a reboot. Using a hackintosh on Lion, haven't tested if it's the same on my MBP but I'll do it when I get home. Just might end up "borrowing" a keyboard from my office with no intent of bringing it back. It's Cambridge Silicon based BT radio.

It's saying my RAM is in slots A4, A1 and A5 when it should be A1, A2, A3. Looks like memory detection will need a little more work, editing the settings file seems to do nothing to change the detection of triple channel RAM. Oh I think the problem also lies in an extra 2GB stick in BANK4/DIMM4 being randomly detected adding 2GB to the total?
blackosx
I'm sure iPhoneTom will get everything working correctly at some point. Bor
Hi I report succes with ##### 1.2 and ##### 1.4 (my specs in signature). With my DSDT and ALC8xxHDA.kext I got sound in Snow, but it doesn't work in Lion. My memory is detected wrong. In 'About this mac' it shows no memory at all, and my processors freq is reported as 4.0 Ghz instead of 3.0 (its Core 2 Duo E8400). Besides that, I can't use my firewire audio interface or my firewire disk. If I do, bootloader hangs after choosing disk to but in the GUI. I see something like "starting 64 bit EFI", but nothing happens. I've tried turning on firewire stuff after Lion loads. It works, but without drivers for my audio interface. If I install them, I got kernel panic. I think it has something to do with the way ##### handles firewire ports. I've run 64-bit Cinebench 11.5 both in Snow Leopard and Lion on my Gainward GTS 250 512 mb. Here are results that I gathered in last few months. Snow Leopard 10.6.4: 24.42 Snow Leopard 10.6.5 (with Tony's NVidia drv): 23,76 Snow Leopard 10.6.7: 22.60 Lion 10.7 (dev prerelease): 26.14 Soon, I'll try to make further tests with games, to see how much they optimized graphic drivers in Lion. It's dev release, but this performance gains look tempting

You need to get it to load FakeSMC.kext and VoodooPS2Controller.kext (did this with external USB kb connected, kextload each) in single user mode (add also -s). After that you need to type exit and it should boot (did it for me).

Dr. Hurt
Just gave XPC 0.82.5 a quick try with "snow leopard" and noticed two things. First, fakeSMC.kext (the only extra kext I need) is not getting loaded from extra_kext folder (so I had to add it to S/L/E to get system booted). Second, RAM info auto-detection is not working properly. Do I have to remove anything from the settings.plist to allow RAM detection to work properly?
blackosx
Hi Dr. Hurt Using XPC to boot Lion, I have FakeSMC in /S/L/E and you're correct in saying the RAM auto-detection is not working correctly (yet). I haven't tried booting SL with XPC.
oldnapalm
For SL you can put FakeSMC in "extra_kexts/10.6" folder. For Lion it doesn't work yet (iPhoneTom said it will when kernel source becomes available). Remove tables type 17 from settings.plist, memory detections works on 2 of my machines, Asus P5E and Acer Aspire 5920, but doesn't work on Asus N53J. PGHammer
I agree 100%. What we need here is more people like you, with newer gear, voice in. Lion is about moving forward. I hear (and experienced it myself) from people with newer ATI cards now can boot up Lion right out the box. I have never seen any first-preview OS that runs this smooth while developers are still trying to adjust to new programming environment. All of the programs on my SL partition run fine in Lion, except that iTunes runs a bit weird. Besides, the improvements in different areas alone makes it worth it to dive in.I just wish someone with the i7/i5 with built-in Intel GMA report the result. I know I will put on Lion on my next HTPC build with Core i5 2500K. I'm using the same kexts (except audio, since VoodooHDA doesn't work in Lion) in both Snow and Lion. I'm also running the same applications. As opposed to beating the OS within an inch of its life, as a daily beater OS, there's definitely a lot there in Lion that wasn't (and isn't) in Snow And that being the case is going to shake up some major misperceptions - on the part of Apple's fanbois, and even in the Hack community, about OS X.
