Cowboy Mike
on the installation process (all startflags) of osx86 the system regcocnizes a 160 GB hdd as 128 GB. i think it depends on the Chipset by SIS... any ideas? Cowboy Mike
Is the disk capacity fully recognized by BIOS? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> sure - the system sees every single byte - except osx86 - partmagic 8 gives me full access Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2481-wrong-disk-size/#findComment-16083 Share on other sites

happycar
The fault appears to lie in the chipset, not the drive. The Chipset can only recognise 128GB as they do not have Large Drive support. The only way to fix this is to replace the mainboard or get an expansion card that has support for drives beyond 128GB and works with Mac OS X. Now that sounds like a challenge! How old is the machine you are working on Mac Loz? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2481-wrong-disk-size/#findComment-603926 Share on other sites
