I supose it should have to work, socket 1155 Sandy Bridge are working without any problems, so I don't know why Sandy Bridge laptot processor shouldn't work, and the GT555m is just a renamed GT445m, the same chip a little bit faster. I've tried uninstalling 12GB of RAM and only using one of my two HDDs for alternative bootloaders to the one mentioned here like [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] but the result is invariably the same. Freezing and saying necessary support files could not be copied on installation. I've tried your solution with a number of different boot programs. Nawcom will not load to the Apple installation screen, however, two others will. I will use another computer to install Mac OS X to a USB drive (when it arrives), and then use it with my L701x. robcoffee Posted April 28, 2011 Share Posted April 28, 2011 Excellent work theSlug, because of this thread I picked up an L701X from Dell outlet - refurb unit - i7, 750gb hd and 4gb ram for a steal of £500 + VAT, added 4gb more ram and a 500gb 7200rpm hybrid hd for main boot drive and the Dell 1510 wifi card. Loving the laptop, and thanks to your guide I have Snow Leopard running perfect 10.6.7, touchpad is smooth with side scrolling and full graphics acceleration.
