So remeber my older topic on upgrading? Well i screwed up everything so i made a clean new installation and used time machine backup to put back everything working.

So everything was working correctly including sound, ethernet, usb,cd drivers EXCEPT my graphics

I realized this when i clicked on time machine it couldn't go in that "fancy" galaxy mode of time machine. It just got stuck and had to force quit time machine!

So i clicked on "Apple logo",about this mac and more info and found that for graphics it said ATI Radeon HD, although my computer has a Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics card with 512 MB. So i searched for the kext, installed using kext helper, and the kext appearred to have installed correctly. So when re-booted the system, i had the same problem!

Can anyone give me a working kext? I already re-installed 3 times with different customizable install options through Hazard's Snow Leopard Disk!

My computer is a HP Pavillion DV5 Entertainment.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Have you installed nvenabler? If yes you just have to mod the Geforce.kext and put it back again at /Extensions.Restart and thats all!

Edit: Just do the following:

Grab geforce.kext from your extensions folder and make a copy on your desktop. secondary click, and click show package contents. Open info.plist.

Look for this:

0x000010de & 0x0000ffff

The first set will be the first thing changed. Specifically, these: 0x000010de. add your four letter/number device ID, replacing the four bold-faced 0's. this can be found at system profiler --> graphics/displays

It should now look like this (this one is mine): 0x029210de

The second part is easy. 0x0000ffff

change the bold-faced 0's to f's.

Save the info.plist.

Open up kexthelper (it's included in "Snow_Support_Files_V2"), and drag your modified geforce.kext into it. enter your password, and hit the magic button

(when he say bold-faced 0's he means the zeros after the x)
