MSN video conferencing on Mac - HOW?

I've borrowed a MacBook recently and I downloaded Msn Messenger for Mac. It has many limitations in it but the main one that annoys me is that I can't do video conferencing or audio conferencing (even though it has a camera and mic built in).

 

I mainly want to video conference (with sound). I know ichat has these features and it sounds much better than msn messenger but I don't have an account with ichat (and don’t know how to get one) and none of my friends do either. We all mainly use msn messenger.

 

I'm sure someone must be in the same situation so would be great if someone could recommend a good programs that helps get around the problem.

(Note: reason I’ve borrowed a MacBook is to figure out if I can get used to it. seems i can. as long as I can get around this problem)

Check out Mac Messenger Guide. They'll tell you the good and bad of all the IM programs on the mac. Mercury Messenger supports audio and video on MSN, but its java and a little clunky. My recommendation is the newest release candidate version of aMSN. It does pretty much everything MSN Messenger on windows does, including video. Get the 0.96 Universal version from the downloads section of the MMG.

Hi dude, thanks a lot for your input. The site does mention quite a few IM applications but doesn't really go into much depth about them. On most, doesn't even include if they support video conferencing. Also it only rates a few. Others have none.

 

So does anyone use a IM program that supports MSN messenger accounts and importantly video conferencing too.... on their Mac?

That' s a big annoying problem...and i haven't yet solved it
