try to install Snow Leo with just one memory stick. When you got everything to work try installing other 2. I read somewhere bout that OSx should be installed with less than 4Gb of memory. Use first 3 slots like manufacturer suggests and I think it should work.

Well I can install Snow Leopard with all stick installed no problem at all, I was just wondering if Tri-Channel is supported from the mobo's instructions like it is in Windows 7, because Snow Leopard tells me to put it in the other 3 slots to obtain optimal memory bandwidth. But hey I will give it a try.

You want the memory installed in the slots recommended by the manufacturer of the board I don't know where you get this Snow Leopard tells you to put it in the others. Does the operating system actually pop up a dialogue telling you this? If it does it is something I have never seen happen. For the 4gb of ram on install you see mentioned that is because of the piece of junk jmicron ata/ide driver for that chipset contained on most of these board if you want reliable kernel panics then enable it in the BIOS with more than 4gb of ram (actually little over 3gb the 32bit limit) in the machine then put the system under load, better of disabling this and all other devices you do/will not use in the BIOS.

Yes it pops up right after install, if I knew where to just have it pop up I would take a screenshot and paste it but I don't know how to find it, what it says on pop up is to have the RAM slots in different slots that the mobo instructions say for optimal performance, I have done what it says but don't see a difference in performance.

I'll be damned obviously Apple must have a hardware check for the ram that pops that up, then that board of yours must be close enough to a real macs that it is triggering it well you learn something new every day...

I have no clue if its a mobo very close to a real Apple mobo, I was just wondering if I should go with the mobo instructions on the Tri-Channel or Snow Leopard's

what Mobo do you have? how much ram, 3x1Gb, 3x2Gb..?

The mobo is a Intel DX58SO, I am using a i7 930 proc, 3x2Gb Consair 1600Mhz Ram
